Mr Optimist
No Fixed Abode Barcelona boss Luis Enrique has confirmed he will step down at the end of the season.

Rumour from an Evertonian....

Enrique to leave Barcelona
Koeman to leave Everton for Barcelona
Wenger to team up with David Dein at Everton next season

Least wenger is used to finished 4th so being 7th is almost the same thing

From Despair To Where? Says it all that his 3 1/2 years at Reading is the longest he's stayed in any managerial job and Millwall aside, he's not come anywhere near replicating that success in the subsequent 23 years.

His footballing philosophy was pretty sound so I've no idea where it's gone wrong. Maybe he's just a colossal prick.

I think we broke him.

He reacted badly to the stick we gave him at Wolves failing to take them up, at least in part, thanks to our desperation to get back at him that got us big wins against them. On top of that he basically shafted two clubs in a row in Reading and Leicester. That sort of self-serving disregard for anyone but himself, combined with a failure to keep Leicester up or get Wolves up, can't have exactly increased his management stock very much. I think his ego may have eaten his ability to manage effectively.

Yeah, but he did well at Millwall.

I just think he maybe has an abrasively smug personality that is tolerated for short periods of time but eventually loses respect and he's so easy to wind up.

Disaster club, always remember one of their fans whilst on holiday in Majorca (classy) pre 2005 telling me that "well, with all due respects, Reading aren't in the "same league" as us"

 dead right we're not.

They will be in the conference in a few years. Blackpool and pompey almost done it but Coventry are awful (a la how Charlton were looking)

Aren't they also on the verge of being thrown out of what was going to be "their" ground, when it was built, by new owners Wasps RFC?

Their tenancy at the Ricoh expires next year. They were looking to move in with Coventry Rugby Club at Butts Park; the capacity of 3,000 might be a bit low, though.

Mark Robins is back today, that should cheer them all up.

Alex Neil sacked.

Not surprising given Norwich's form since October but I don't think he'll be out of work for long.

What does Lee Johnson have to do to get the sack? I actually think he has a decent enough young manager but City's form is beyond abysmal and the buck has to stop with him. Do Barnsley get a £20m payout if he keeps them up?
