Sutekh What happened to Surinam and Guyana? Let me guess they're going to be part of CONCACAF aren't they? Still make more sense to invite them though.

Sanguine What's occurring with the scheduling of this tournament? It was held in 2015 and 2016 (both won by Chile), now in 2019, and again next year, with a gap then to 2024.
Argentina not having won this since 1992 is mental.
Just found the 2011 edition, where brilliantly, Paraguay got to the final without winning a game. They qualified third from their group by drawing all three games, and then beat Brazil and Venezuela (who were, strangely, also their group opponents) on penalties.

2016 was a celebration of the 100 year anniversary, so, yeah fair enough.
I think they've then decided to switch to even years, essentially to coincide with the Euros.
They recently did something similar with the ACN, so there were two tournaments in two years a short while back.

Winston Biscuit Uruguay 4-0 Ecuador
Paraguay 2-2 Qatar
That Paraguay result is a big let off for Argentina

Yep, shifting it to every 4 years in even years, so fits in with the Euros. In fact it will run between the same dates - 12th June to 12th July.
There are even plans to increase the participants to 16 meaning 6 invitees, so could well see some European nations who just miss out on Euro qualification being invited over alongside the usual North American/Asia invites.
ACON was shifted to odd years as it is still run every 2 years but as it was moved to the summer, they had to shift to odd to avoid clashing with the World Cup every few years.

The Enfield Royal71 Chile and Peru pull of major shocks to get to the semis against each other.
Brazil v Argentina in the other semis.
Can Argentina finally break their duck of losing in copa america finals? Will messi finally, in surely his final chance, win an international tournament?

Is getting a 0-0 draw over 90 mins and winning the immediate penalty shoot-out really a major shock?
