Old Man Andrews Stop talking and go away.

No. Put me on ignore if you don't like it. Otherwise suck it up and have a discussion. To use your phrase that you always use

I'm talking about the subject matter at hand in a thread designed for it. I am talking about potential young loan players for our squad for next season, in a thread specifically designed for it.

Can’t see Swift displacing Norwood, Fleck or Berge

May follow Osborn’s and Freeman’s route of sitting on the bench most of the season

Jesus he has gone to Sheffield United? That's a tough move for him I think.

And a very big hole to fill aswell as him and Cabral have been our two best players this season.

Yep bench option along with an increased wage for the player. John Swift is the sort of player who will be happy to go and sit on their arse at a Premier League club.

What, like when he declined an offer from Chelsea to play for Reading?

He knew full well he would be sent out on loan to Vitesse Arnham if he re-signed for Chelsea and nobody wants that, wages would have probably been crap too. He will get paid handsomely at Sheffield United whislt getting injured in training and coming on as a 89th minute sub in Carabao Cup games. Perfect for him.

Gunter and McCleary both off according to J Low.

That's a lot of wages I imagine.

According to Courtney Friday Barrow and Swift will free up £40k a week in wages, imagine Gunter and McCleary will be another £30k on top of that at least.

Yeah top journalism.

The savings we will be making are astronomical, especially if Moore sods off too.

Yep, seems about right. If we can get rid of Moore and Aluko by whatever means, then that would probably be another 50k

Obita and Blackett is prob 20k+ between them as well.

I'd still keep Blackett, tbh.

Yep, been really good this season. Think he has pace and a good cross on him, would start him as LB next season if he was to stay. Reckon he will go on to a much better team than us.

That's a good lot of money saved. How much of it would we be able to spend on wages and what players could we get to fill those positions we need to be filled that would

1) be affordable?
2) come to us?
3) be good?

Unless we are going to heavily rely on loan players who are young and need first team experience. There are alot of those out there at the moment in the Premier League. Not including Saka

If only Adam Lallana or Edison Cavani would just drop their wage demands slighty....

Obita is knackered bless him, certainly at Championship level anyway. Would do a good job lower down or in a less taxing league.

Well that is 51k off the wages per week with Mannone, Popa and Barrow gone plus a fee for Barrow.

figures taken from this spurious link
https://footballleaguefc.com/reading-fc ... yer-wages/

All heading in the right direction
OOC players that have not left yet if they all go will lose 76.5 k per week
Gunter
Blackett
Obita
Adam
Gmac

Loan players lets say we are paying 50% of the wages across the three (I have removed Ejaria) will remove 20k per week
Miazga
Gomes
Boye

so prospective wage bill before of 358k reduced by 147.5k leaves us at 210.5k pw

Squad left is (some have multiple positions because they can play them.
GK Rafael, Southwood, Walker
CB Moore, Morrison, Mcintyre, Holmes, Osho
RB Yiadom, Osho, Watson
LB Richards ??
CM Rinhomota, Swift, Aruruna, ?? Holsgrove, East
ACM Ejaria, Olise, Aluko (I know but we wont get rid of him)
RW/RF ??, ??
LW/LF Meite, ??
CF Puscas, Joao, Baldock, Meite, Mcnulty

So the minimum we need if no one is sold in my view is LB cover, another DCM as this is a high injury area 2x RW and one other LW option. others that get sold replace like for like. focus on the free transfer market and spend no more than 50k per week on the 5 needed (260k overall). will still put us in a better position financially,

The following year we will lose Baldock, Aluko and some other fringe players (40k) hopefully some more academy players will come and fill the gaps or we are not short of players in those positions so make do and mend.

If Moore or Swift get a decent offer in take it and reinvest in a more cost effective option who can do the same. but in this current market I can see them both being here next year as the money will not be around that our owners will want for them.

correction an offer on the table for swift so another 25k gone in wages reinvest with Barrow money on 2x CM options then.
