Yup, a good deal for all involved I think (if it happens)!

Agreed, I like Moore and don’t think he deserves the abuse he gets on social media (I mean one person created an account just to tweet every day about him getting out of our club!), but I think it would be time to take the deal. Good move for all.

Would mean that we need to sign 2 centre backs though.

I think we would sign one centre back. We have Holmes as a fourth choice cb. We have to work with a smaller squad going forward.

Shouldn’t be a problem, can’t say that having a big squad has helped us much over recent years

That would probably stop us from ever playing 3 at the back, and with Mcintyres injuries and morrison probably towards the end of his career I think that would leave Holmes making 10-15 league starts. He might be good for that but it's quite a big risk

Would be delighted with it tbh as I suspect would Moore himself

If he’d settle for a lower wage, I’d 100% get Miazga back...underrated in his time here and a long-term replacement for Morrison. We need 3 decent cbs and if Moore goes we’re very light there

I don’t think Miazga was underrated in his time here. He was a regular starter when fit and I think (although I may be wrong) many of us saw him as our best centre back. Things fell off at the end of his spell because he’s not going to be around forever and he attacked an opposition player after the final whistle.

Think talk of him being Morrison’s long term replacement IS underrating him. He’s a considerably better player. But he’s probably going to have better offers.

Well personally I think he’s superior to Morrison too...but a lot of fans seem to think Morrison is the messiah. He’s a solid signing but Miazga was better

Miazga is definitely the better player imo but unaffordable. Chelsea would want a significant fee and he would expect good wages. We are not in a position to offer either.

Not necessarily unaffordable...I mean he’s not had many offers as far as we’re aware otherwise he wouldn’t have returned to us last season. It’s not unthinkable that he’d accept lower wages than what Moore is on now either

I think Chelsea will want a decent fee. He is better than Moore imo so we would be expected to pay a significant fee. We don’t have the funds for that. I hope to be wrong and that you are right as it would be great to have him back.

Bowen said after the game today Miazga was probably protecting himself a bit last season so he wouldn't go back to Chelsea injured. So I think even if we found the money from somewhere he won't be coming back

Yep. I was surprised he actually came back last season.

I think fees are less of an issue for us than wages.

£3m fee on a four year £20k a week contract is actually less costly than in accounting terms for FFP than the wages.

Yeah the Bowen interview hinted at a bit of tension there tbh. Seem to recall a couple of games being missed with a hammy injury which sounded a little dubious

Pretty sure we won’t see him back

What is worrying me a bit is that we are not getting our business done quickly. The good free transfers are already being swallowed up. Van Der Hoorn and Andre Green are still not signed. But there is not much else jumping out at me. With no money to spend it is worrying.
We may raid some lower league team but that also takes funds to do so. We have already mentioned Crewe but Pickering, Ng and Wintle are stand out players for them.
Nathan Byrne, Jamal Lowe and Morsy are still at Wigan and would fill gaps but they must almost be out of administration with how much they have sold already.
A bit left wing if Moore did leave isn’t Scott McKenna meant to be very gd at Aberdeen.

Anyway long and short of what I am saying the longer this goes on without signings the less affordable options will be out there.
Oh and Miazga is a no from me if we sell Moore for 4 million then buy Miazga for 3 million we are no better off. We are better selling Moore and buying 3 or 4 players with his money and wages from lower leagues than on one player. We are no better off otherwise.

Agree about getting things done. We had a rush of signings prior to the closure of last summer’s transfer window which gave Gomes no time to time to try and put together a side that could gel. We need to avoid history repeating itself.

Truth is, this is the quietest transfer window in a lifetime for most fans. Just feels that we need more players because of the amount that have left.

We all knew we would need to shift players this summer; and we have saved lots of wages, but as yet we’ve not received a penny in transfer fees iirc.

We’ll be savvy and get some cheaper signings / frees this year to meet FFP, then hopefully let the Dai’s ramp up the spending (minus Kia) with quality and bulk up the squad again next season.

They clearly want to emulate teams like Wolves. The staff they put faith in last time just royally oxf*rd it up.

Listening to Bowen yesterday it feels like a couple of strikers may depart before the end of the window. My money in on McNulty and Puscas. Puscas had two good chances yesterday but never looked like scoring. Baldock is a Bowen type player imo who works hard and has decent experience. Pity he’s probably on one of the biggest wages.

We should pay Aluko to go out on loan! Just get him away from the squad now. Would rather see Sam Smith in and around the squad.

We got £1.5 million for Barrow.

Last thing we need to do is bulk up the squad !
