Which authorities, and what action is required?STAR Liaison wrote:The campaign looks for urgent action from the authorities to protect the very existence of clubs in this dangerous time.
Sorry for tardy reply. The following statement is now on the STAR website:Green wrote:Which authorities, and what action is required?STAR Liaison wrote:The campaign looks for urgent action from the authorities to protect the very existence of clubs in this dangerous time.
Looks very broad in scope and very general at the moment. A bit "Down with this sort of thing", dare I say it. Fine if it's only just getting started but feel like it needs a bit of refining if anything is to come of it other than placard waving.
Agreed. The PL is already a step too far and this is just the final walk off the plank.STAR Liaison wrote:"An unpopular, illegitimate, & dangerous scheme in the eyes of the overwhelming majority of fans.” In an unprecedented move, fans’ groups from across Europe have issued a joint statement in opposition to a European Super League.
There is a hugely supported petition condemning the idea of the the big European clubs breakaway league.
The statement has just been published on FSE’s website and on their social media:

STAR has signed this though we don't show up on the list on account of our lack of European creds. One day!
Yep, I'd happily see the big clubs oxf*rd off. They can't all win most their games when they're in a league together. I'd enjoy the crying from the likes of Chelsea, Utd, Arsenal when they find themselves mid-table or worse and getting a beasting by Barcelona twice a season.John Madejski's Wallet wrote:What's the plan for a European Super League?
Is it that the big clubs in each country piss off and start their own European-wide league? Or will they carry on playing domestically too?
If the former i'm actually up for it. I'd happily watch the Prem again if the top 4-6 clubs naffed off. If the latter that will be terrible for the domestic game
They'll want both European and domestic cake - they'll play a B-ish side domestically.John Madejski's Wallet wrote:What's the plan for a European Super League?

The last week has shown the benefits of a united fan movement that has well-prepared arguments.Green wrote:Which authorities, and what action is required?STAR Liaison wrote:The campaign looks for urgent action from the authorities to protect the very existence of clubs in this dangerous time.

The Govt, in the form of Culture Sec Oliver Dowden, was singing from the hymn sheet written by the Football Supporters Association.
The long awaited Fan-led Review has been launched and is led by a proper football supporter.
The Greedy Six have been shamed and chastened.
Folk, now and rightly, are saying we don't just want to return to the status quo before ESL - we want some genuine push back against greed and poor governance in the game. We hope the corner is turned.
