Ascotexgunner Shouldn't the women's matches now get their own thread as the superleague is going to be televised and having loads of dosh thrown at it.

Jackson Corner It’s supposed to be an all professional league with ambitions to be the best women’s league in the world. Yet the standard of refereeing is terrible. The ball was well over the line and United had a player offside in the build up to the second goal.

Agree - should have at least have goal line technology

Agreed. Absolutely no reason given the money now flowing into the game and the amount of televised games that it couldn't be put in. In the meantime, it should be used at stadiums where it already exists e.g. SCL Stadium. I don't buy the 'must be used in all games or not at all argument' being applied to goal line technology. Unlike VAR it is an absolute digital decision with no human interpretation at all. No club therefore gains or loses out through having it since it just ensures goals are awarded when they are scored (like last night). Reading would have no advantage through having it at their home games, since it could just as easily work against them.
Not sure the second goal was offside. It was very close and the camera was not in line with the play, therefore could easily have presented a misleading picture.

tidus_mi2 Now obviously these women teams of Premier League clubs are much better funded than our women's team but we really seem to have just completely stalled, perhaps even gone backwards. Maybe it's less knee jerk in women's football but in any men's team, Kelly Chambers would have been sacked a long time ago.
