- traveled up to near Evesham to ‘tick-off’ this one. Amongst a few of the sides transferred in from the Midlands league for this season – speaking to some people there, they aren’t very happy about joining the Hellenic either.
- odd game: decided more or less in the first few minutes when the home side had two sent off following a nasty challenge and some ‘afters’ – plus a third was sin-binned – so they were reduced to 8 for a spell.
- Didn’t concede in that period but the visitors eventually worked out how to make their superior numbers tell.
- Very basic set-up but good enough for STEP06

Just read about the Reading City (v Wembley) game.

A crowd of 270 including Mayor Rachel Eden witnessed four Wembley players and their manager get sent off, with one City player also taking the walk of shame.

Sounded ‘fun’

Not quite right FoC

They tend not to win when I go (the Reading effect?!) And I went to the previous game which was a 0-0 draw. Plenty of chances lots of effort, some good saves but no goals!

 give you that - mis-read their own match report and used the word 'win' instead of 'game' ..... of which they have had 4 in a row.

Fancy a bit of afters may come back into play on Saturday, especially seeing Bracknell can be wind up merchants on the pitch

(UPDATED 31/01/22)

# Team Pl Pts

2. Chertsey Town 23 47
3. Hanwell Town 21 45
4. Uxbridge 22 44
5. Marlow 20 42
6. Basingstoke Town 21 41
7. Bedfont Sports 20 38
8. Binfield 21 31

... Chertsey's home defeat by Chipstead was a bit of a shocker ..... as is Northwood's charge up the table - just checked who they've signed - looks very much as if it's co-incided with the arrival of ex-Moles striker Josh Helmore at the turn of the year. Seems to be firing them into this rich vein of form and 'rocket' them up to mid-table?

- only three games in this division this midweek, involving Uxbridge (@ Chalfont); Hanwell v Ashford T and Basingstoke trek round the M25 to S.Park. Got the first two on my 'possibles' list .....
- 'Moles' are in action in the League (Velocity) Cup on Tuesday home vs Tooting & Mitcham.

Northwood were very good when they played Basingstoke Town. They were in a total false position.

Guernsey are an interesting one. Basically they field two teams. One for home and one for away. Hence why home form can be so strong. They have to pay £7k per home game to the opposition team for flights.

HELL-1
Worcester Raiders 1-2 Abingdon Utd
- easy trip up to here – Sixways Stadium home of Worcester Warriors RFC, currently hosts Worcester Raiders, playing this season down in STEP06 having been transferred across from the Midlands leagues
- ground is sited right on a motorway junction to the North east of the City – so easy access and plenty of free-parking. Bit of a high-tech ground with card-only for entrance and up in the hospitality area. Understandably had less stock available than for the ‘odd-shaped-ballers’. Serve yourself drinks ‘wall’ too - sadly only providing Carling, Worthington, Cider or Guinness & all at a fiver’
- is a rather grand setting for this level of football with a crowd barely reaching three figures dotted around one stand of a ground with an 11.5k capacity
- we had a (small) trace of loyalty to the visitors here - being as they were from nearby Abingdon
- they have only recently clawed themselves away from the bottom of the division following an appalling start which saw them gain nul points from their first 11 games.
- they ripped up the form book here though : for long periods outplaying their hosts - who came into the game topping the table - and deservedly heading back south with all three points.

SSM-P
Aylesbury Vale Dynamos 1-1 Arlesey Town
Baldock Town 1-1 Holmer Green
London Colney 0-1 Flackwell Heath
SSM-1
Amersham Town 0-2 Stotfold
Kidlington Reserves 1-5 Irchester United
Long Crendon 2-1 Northampton Sileby Rangers
Wellingborough Whitworth 3-1 Thame United Reserves

WESS-P
Alresford Town 0-1 Shaftesbury
Bashley 3-1 Alton
- Another goal-fest elsewhere in this division, with a 0-5, 3-3, 4-2, 8-1 and a 9-0 – 51 goals across 10 matches.
- Fareham Town a bit of a stand-out here: 2nd top scorers with over 80 but also conceded mote than 70 – hence sit below mid-table in 12th! At the top Hamworthy and Horndean have plus GD of over 50 and the bottom pair, Hythe & Dibden and Amesbury, are both hurtling towards -100

WESS-1
Bemerton Heath Harlequins 3-0 Petersfield Town
Downton 3-0 Whitchurch United
Fleet Spurs
1-4 New Milton Town
Folland Sports 2-1 Andover Town
Millbrook 1-7 {SEVEN} Andover New Street
Totton & Eling 0-2 Ash United

Bracknell never really got going on Saturday against a Chertsey team who were up for it from the start
Good crowd just over 500 with a vocal Chertsey following

RFCMod Sets it up nicely for Saturday Bracknell v Chertsey
Fancy a bit of afters may come back into play on Saturday, especially seeing Bracknell can be wind up merchants on the pitch

Sutekh
Royals and Racers Bracknell have been awarded the 3 points for the abandoned game at Chertsey in October and are now 17 points clear

# Team Pl Pts
1. Bracknell Town 23 64
2. Chertsey Town 22 47
3. Uxbridge 21 44
4. Hanwell Town 20 42
5. Marlow 19 42
6. Basingstoke Town 20 38
7. Bedfont Sports 19 37
8. Binfield 20 30

Incidentally after Marlows 1-1 draw with Uxbridge, Bracknell now have the best defensive record in the top 8 tiers of English football (60 for, 8 against). Perhaps Reading should watch them, might get an idea or two!
