Stop worrying about the bottom 3. There are so many permutations but essentially they need everyone below us to hit form they haven't shown all season and us return to January form.

It can happen of course but over the past 6 games, so crunch time, we have picked up more points then those below us.

If it goes tits up, it is because we will have been shit and deserve to be in the mess.

windermereROYAL Fulham losing 2-0 at home to Coventry it will be just our luck for them to go through a bad patch when it`s Derby up next.

I thought the opposite - Fulham will want to sew up promotion asap so I expect a good response against Derby, not them going on a poor run.

Same - was hoping Fulham don't win today so they can't be up by the time they play Derby which is the last game on Friday

Just a small point but it doesn’t need EVERYONE below us to hit form.
Just one would be a big issue

Just a smaller point…..and unlikelihood, it might just be us that ‘hits form’

Well quite.

Over 6,8,10 and 12 games, we are on better form than all those below us (exception Barnsley took 1 more point over 8 games).

If form over last 6 continues for the other 3 and we don't get another point. We stay up by 2.

PPG over 8 for all others, and us 0. We stay up by a point.

I am not underestimating what could happen but the only way we go down now is by picking up close to 0 points and at least one side massively increasing their current, not season long, form.

If we go down now, it is on us. I feel part of yesterday's second half was players thinking it was job done before it was. The loss hopefully gives them a kick again.

Barnsley and Derby simply have to pick up points away to stand any chance. In the last 16 away games they've played, they have lost 15. Only Barnsley's win at a Hull side on a run of 6 straight home defeats stops that bring 0 for 16.

Also worth noting, that a point a game is poor form and would be a slip from where we are now.

Just 1 point per game gets us to 42. Derby would then need to win all 5, as would Peterborough.

For Barnsley, that would need a run of W4 D2 or W5 L1.

And if any of them do that, all power to them.

Absolutely, I was ( stupidly prolly) following the Fulham game with glee. They still need a result on Friday evening, even if Forest lose.

All season, Barnsley have taken just 7 points away from home, and only 4 since September 18th (a draw at Peterboro and a win away at Hull); their last 3 away games are Swansea, Huddersfield and West Brom, whilst their last 3 home games are Peterboro, Blackpool and Preston.

If they get more than 7 points from those 6 games (beat Peterborough and Blackpool, draw with Preston, Lose to Swansea, Huddersfield and West Brom) I will be amazed.

Peterborough's last 5 games are Blackburn, Forest and Blackpool at home, and Barnsley and Millwall away. If they get 4 points from those 5 (beat Blackpool, draw with Blackburn, lose to Forest, Barnsley and Millwall) they would be doing well.

Which leaves Derby; their last 5 games - Fulham, Bristol City and Cardiff at home, QPR and Blackpool away. I think they could get 10 points from those 5 games (lose to Fulham, draw with Blackpool and beat Brizzle, Cardiff and QPR)

Basically, one more win for us SHOULD be enough..............

Agreed. I think Derby are the concern. One more win and we will be fine. Just annoyed we didn’t slam the door shut yesterday. Even a point would have been fine.

I definitely wouldn't completely rule Derby out of it yet just because they have some winnable fixtures and they are quite strong at home as well. I'd like to think QPR can turn them over at their place though and maybe Blackpool as well.

It only takes 2 draws and a defeat for Derby to be relegated though as it stands without us having to do anything and it's entirely possible they could be 2 draws or, likely, worse down in their next couple of games. If we can beat Swansea at home a week on Monday, I feel that may relegate all the bottom 3.

I also do hope it's over and done with in the next couple of games as well as I don't like the look of Barnsley's double home fixtures against Blackpool and Preston. Although it's unlikely they will win back-to-back games, the more the season ticks over the more important it becomes to get wins and the last thing we want is for this going down to the final game of the season.

Whilst we know Fulham are pretty much up.....that FFP piss taking old persons home appears not to be so safe yet in their 2nd spot. Them and FFP smashing Forest have a difficult run in and have to play each other still. Could be quite exciting.

Derby have virtually no margin of error. I doubt they'll finish with 38, let alone 40+

It should, should, be a straight fight between us and Barnsley. We have a nice cushion of 8 points and GD is the same but Barnsley do have a game in hand and relatively kind Easter fixtures, be interesting to see where we are after Easter

I think people seem to forget that strange things do happen at this time of the season. It was only a couple of years ago when the bottom 3 teams after 40-ish games didn't go down, one of them being Barnsley who won away at Brentford who needed a win to go up. The more lifelines you keep giving clubs, the harder it gets. Clubs at the bottom at this stage of the season see an inch and will take a mile.

I know it will take a monumental collapse for us to go down, but that's hardly beyond a possibility given the season we've had. Yes, the evidence does not suggest that we will go down at this stage and I still don't think we will, however we need to close it out. Even though none of the teams can go down on Friday, a win for us would be massive again. I can't see it happening at Sheff United of course, but, stranger things have happened.

It's not hitting form though is it. It involves one of them hitting promotion form when all are, even of late, bouncing around relegation or lower table form. Whilst we drop off a cliff.

2 separate things have to happen and whilst neither are impossible both are unlikely.
