genome And people were worried Fulham would threaten 106.

They will beat the 99 goals we scored in the 106 season, though our GD of +68 is harder for them (despite all those 7-0 wins!).

The big difference is in loses; we had 2 whilst they already have 9. Put into perspective, in our 106 season, Sheff Utd only lost 8 times, Watford (PO winners) 9 and Preston in 4th incredibly only lost 6 times (they drew 20 games!!!).

If they fail to win both their remaining 2 games they will end up on at best 91 points - fewer than Sheff Utd got in finishing 14 points behind us!

:D :D :D

And fewer than we got when we won the title in 2011-12….!

Hound Got to say I can’t stand Forest and thought Cooper was a poor appointment. Been proven massively wrong. Fair play to him

Don't dislike Forest, but their constant mentions of 'the world-famous City Ground' is properly lame. Cooper's done a really good job there, would absolutely love it if Bournemouth somehow conspire to screw it up. Huge amount of pressure on Scott Parker.

I live in Newark and their fans are by and large decent. There's a mix of Forest and Derby fans round here with none of the Man U/London stuff in the south (Reading and Sussex) which I like.

Like us and 106 though in a way, we harp on about it on line every year and quite honestly winning the European Cup twice is a way bigger achievement....

And re the City Ground at least they've not sold their ground name when they were skint....

One is a current record, the other is an ancient title. You can bet if someone takes the record from us, we'll stop singing about it.

Our record is the most points achieved in the oldest league in the world. A much more ‘ancient’ title than the European Cup.....

With Middlesbrough winning, still hope that Luton are going to need something from our game - that would be the perfect scenario and perhaps ruin a play off party. Ideally would like them to run on the pitch and celebrate only for it to go Pete Tong and we can lose the Burnley game tag.

Not at all.
It’s a pretty throwaway discussion. There isn’t much point to it.

Luton are the least objectionable of all the teams in the play offs. If they went into the final game needing 3pts, I wouldnt be gutted to see them get them.

I remember going there in 95 having hit a bit of a wobble and they gifted us 3pts which gave us momentum to finish the season strongly.

We got 89 points in 2011/12; so unless Fulham only take 1 point from their last 2 games, they will either better or match that total.

It's certainly possible with them playing Fulham next, I'm sure they'd love to secure the title in front of their fans. You'd bank on at least one of Boro, Blackburn or Millwall to win to take it to the final game.

Would like the last game to have something to play for, it might get picked for TV and would hopefully add a bit of spice to it. I have nothing against Luton personally, would seem a bit weird to see them in the Prem but I suppose it's no weirder than when we went up for the first time in 06.

Yeah but Forest are probably the best team in the league right now on current form.

Entirely possible given their last two games are against teams in the top six still with something to play for, in Luton and Sheffield United.

Ady Williams was credited with the goal but it was so obviously an og by, IIRC, John Taylor. We were poor on the day.

Tony Mowbray leaving Blackburn at the end of the season also!! Along with Warburton at QPR, looking like a serious manger merry-go-round about to begin.
What with Paul Ince commenting he would like talks regarding his future and assurances on the clubs direction moving forward, it looks like a fun few weeks ahead.
I guess we'll see how committed Dai Jongge really is in the next few weeks.

The Blackburn fans have been incredibly negative about Mowbray. He has done a really decent job there. Be careful what you wish for. They may appreciate him once he’s gone.

There's a certain potential for a post-McCarthy style fall there.

Yeah true there is that. He's been there for a while as well. Blackburn remind me of us from last season, collapsing after injuries, but I could see it going very wrong for them next season.

Very steady manager. Wonder how well Blackburn would have done this season without Ben Brereton-Diaz suddenly being good at football, relied on him a lot. Did bring a lot of their youth players through and he would probably suit Reading tbh. I hope the owner at least approaches the likes of Mowbray and Warburton and gives them an interview.

Have also seen the fans weren’t too chuffed with him

It’s hard to understand from the outside, turned them into a solid to good champ side, don’t remember them spending any sort of money either. And they always seem reasonable to watch. And he comes over a half decent bloke. Weird one

In contrast (and based solely on Twitter so caveats apply), the QPR fans seemed to like warburton a lot
