Franchise FC One of my pet hates is playing right footers at left back

Cancelo appears to one of the very few that can make it work, but Tripper, Reece James, Gunter …

Towards the end with us Gunter was consistently better at LB than RB, although that didn't make him actively good I guess.

The bloke had four strings to his bow at RB.

Being able to run all game.
Winning cheap free kicks for minimal contact
Aimless balls down the line vaguely towards a winger who stayed wide
First touch back inside and pass to a CB.

Maldini, Brehme, Nilton Santos, Fachetti, Irwin, Lahm, Breitner, Zambrotta, Azpilicueta, Spinazzola… Andy Hughes…

Given the numbers that’s an extremely short list
Who’d have thought Andy Hughes would be listed in the same bracket as Maldini

Was tempted to make a list that ended "Chris Makin, Ulises de la Cruz, Andy Hughes", but thought that might not have the same comedic effect.

Seriously though, I reckon any list of top ten best left backs is going to have at least three right footers, and usually four or five. Maldini is nailed on, and Brehme, Santos, Fachetti, Breitner, Lahm, and Irwin are contenders. How many World Cups have that lot won between them?

I looked it up - two for Santos, one for Breitner, one for Brehme, and one for Lahm - he was playing right back, but Benedikt Howedes was playing left back so that still counts. Fachetti and Brehme each lost a final, as did Antonio Benarrivo. So of the last sixteen World Cup finals, eight have included a right-footed left back and five of them were on the winning side.

Same. Right footed but just as good with left as my right.

Earned the reputation of having two left feet.

I can barely kick with my right, let alone my left.
