A move is afoot to get shot of Windsor’s Chairman Kevin Stott.

I like the guy but it is a move I fully support.

Four Of Clubs Saturday 11th February

Chalfont St. Peter 2-0 Windsor

I went to this one. Windsor started both halves ok, but Chalfont dominated overall and should have won by far more than two goals.

Their inability to turn very good opportunities into clear chances will be a concern, but they looked considerably better than Windsor overall.

It's weird to think that I grew up knowing windsor and Wokingham as Isthmian Premier clubs, and it's possible that both could end up dropping into the CC1, from what would have been Step 2 to Step 6.

Remember watching Wokingham beat Spennymoor United 3-0 in the Trophy back in 1988. Wokingham finished 5th in the Isthmian League Premier that season (Windsor & Eton (the “proper” name for Windsor) finished in 7th in the same division. Wokingham went all the way to the semis, before losing to eventual runners-up Telford, and won 4-0 at Gateshead and beat Macclesfield Town on their way so must have had quite some side then. Didn’t Wokingham’s slide happen almost straight after selling off their Finchampstead Road ground - was that done because of financial problems or just to get money?

For those liking a bit of nostalgia the Isthmian Premier that season included Yeovil (league winners), Slough (3rd), Leytonston/Ilford, Leyton-Wingate, Hitchin, Basingstoke (relegated), Dulwich, Bromley, Carshalton, Tooting and Hendon.

Dear oh dear, we know it's bad but when a neutral says that about Windsor (in a relegation battle game) it really does hit it home.

Oh well, I suppose relegation might force out the current owner / Chairman, so one step back....

Although I am mindful of the phrase "be careful of what you wish for", things really do need to change. Apart from anything else there are hardly any volunteers anymore - Stott is not an easy person to work with / for, not because he's an unpleasant character or lazy, he's just all over the place with his management, doesn't keep appointments, makes all the decisions but won't take input / ideas etc. and people putting in their time for free get pissed off after a while and leave.

.....Will try a fuller review of mw later but games in the CCL-PN at Rivermoor (Reading v Windsor) and Summerleaze (Holyport v Lions) abandoned tonight due to fog.
Ascot prevailed 1-0 over Wallingford & Crowmarsh to go 7 pts clear with games in hand.
In CCL-PS I'd expect they were mighty relieved to complete the game at Tadley this evening - visitors Jersey were held 0-0.

In the upper reaches of the Pyramid , Sh!ts were held 1-1 at the Rec by the 'Spireites' and 'The Cards' temporarily put a spoke in the wheels of the Wrecsam bandwagon, grabbing a point in a 2-2 draw at the Racecourse.

At Step02 away wins for Brackley @ Kidderminster and Farnborough at Taunton.

...great looks like between us we've pretty much covered this Midweek then - just a few 'gems' to add....

Winchester went down 0-1 at Poole in Southern Prem South- crowd of just over 300.

In the Southern Central Div One Aylesbury Utd's game v AFC Dunstable (@ Chesham) was fogged off too.

In Basingstoke's division (Isthmian One SC) Thatcham drew 2-2 @ Binfield - very late equalizer from Rohart-Brown (pen) - after Ramarni Medford-Smith had reduced a 2-0 deficit immediately after H/T
...both 'Moles' efforts from Conor Lynch.

Marlow also roared back in the 2nd half in their game - trailed 0-2 v Ashford but went 2 better than Thatcham running out 4-2 winners
2nd Placed Walton & Hersham won at Northwood - and have a game in hand on Basingstoke.

... other notable scorelines Andover New Street were beaten for the first time in the Wessex One League this season 0-1 at home to Petersfield
... and the 'Jam Boys' (Whitchurch) picked up a big away win 0-4 at Amesbury in the same division.

Royals and Racers If anyone is desperate to see a game on Wednesday( like me :) ) the old enemy Oxford Utd have a home FA Youth cup 5th round(last 16) tie against Leeds at the Kassam KO 7pm. Another new ground for me to tick off.

Delayed by a frozen pitch until tonight- Oxford 3 Leeds 0.
Big shock and the locals enjoyed it and now they are in the QF`s playing Man City away.Attendance 756

Brilliant win for Basingstoke - they are on some run, considering they had such an appalling start. Be brilliant to see them promoted and back up the leagues. Crowds will hit a thousand before too long.

Odd side Basingstoke. They are essentially bang average but have that knack that all successful sides have of just being able to get the job done.

Scored the most, conceded the least - won 15 of the last 16, not screaming bang average to me.

Is it reasonable to assume that the 2 incidents are linked?
