NathStPaul Did Parma get promoted?

play offs

Palermo fcuked it, blew a two goal lead at home to 16th-placed Brescia on the final day and missed out on the play-offs to Venezia on goal difference.

mentioned it before, but it just seems mind blowingly stupid for Ligue 2 to have no play offs this season. Its been a dead season for loads of teams for weeks now.

Looks like Bordeaux will go back up to Ligue 1 at the first time of asking. A really pretty decent for St-Etienne in the end after their points deduction and disastrous start. Etienne Green hardly played for them this season

If Roma win the Europa League, Tammy Abraham will become the first player in history to win all four UEFA competitions:

Champions League
Europa League
Conference League
Youth League

Conference League only launched 2 years ago so any 'in history' statement including that is somewhat valueless

Stranded A lot to play for next week. Union & Freiburg can both still take the final CL place and at the bottom - Augsburg, Stuttgart, Schalke and Bochum are in a relegation battle.

Augsburg cannot go down next week but could end up in the relegation play-off.

3rd bottom will play Heidenheim or Hamburg depending on next weeks results.

Went to the Hertha v Bochum match. Fantastic stadium and atmosphere. 70,692 attendance. Game itself wasn't the best quality, Hertha had a goal disallowed in the first-half by VAR. Hertha improved after half-time and went 1-0 up around the hour mark. Chidera Ejuke came on and looked the best player on the pitch. 5 minutes of stoppage time and Bochum equalise late in in the fourth-minute of that from a corner. Reading-esque defending from Hertha. Relegation confirmed, atmosphere killed. People crying, young and old. Really felt for them. Bochum must have brought around 4,000 and they certainly enjoyed it.

(11th) Borussia Mönchengladbach v Augsburg (14th)
(15th) Stuttgart v Hoffenheim (13th)
(16th) Bochum v Bayer Leverkusen (6th)
(3rd) Leipzig v Schalke (17th)

Nine players won the Champions League/European Cup; Europa League/UEFA Cup and Cup Winners' Cup - so Abraham would become the tenth to win three separate UEFA club competitions (not counting the Super Cup). A very impressive feat should he achieve it, especially as he's still only 25.

The Youth League only started in 2013 - so none of the previous nine had an opportunity to win it.

Winston Biscuit Great final day of Segunda to come with both promotion spots still up for grabs. Levante can only make by way of a better GD if they score a boat load of goals as the H2H is equal to Las Palmas.

Grenada vs Leganes (12th place)
Las Palmas Vs Alaves
Levante vs Oviedo (7th place)

in addition to this^, I just learned that if there is a 3 way tie at the top of Segunda by way of Grenada losing, Las Palmas drawing and Levante winning, then they are split using a mini league, and Levante would be champions as they have taken 6 points from the others, Las Palmas would be be 2nd as they have taken 5 points, and Grenada would drop into the play offs

Come on Levante!

listened to a podcast on Spanish football yesterday and the stuff they said was:

Ancelotti now looks like he may well be staying for 1 more year until his contract expires. Kroos & Benzema staying too, Modric suggesting he will do another year but not confirmed yet. RM fans unhappy as its now being seen as 1 last season dragged out of a manager and players that are now past it.

RM doing loads of PR work through their newspapers around Alvaro Arbeloa, which is what they always do before they appoint a new manager. He is the under 18's manager, has done really well and now the speculation in Spain is that he may take over the first team in 12 months time. Could even be forced on Ancelotti as the new assistant manager for this upcoming season.

They said Atletico were talking to Simeone around christmas with a view to getting rid of him but then the team suddenly upped their game and have gone on a great run in the 2nd half of the season, everything feel rejuvinated and everyone there loves Simeone again. They said with RM going through the above^ next season, and Barca needing to cut costs and moving to a different stadium next season, the smart money right now is on Atletico for the title next season. Not least because they apparently have some interesting youngsters coming through and players out on loan that will return, a number of which may well be in the AM first team next season. In particular they highlighted Sergio Camello who they loaned to Rayo Vallacano, and who hasn't scored loads, but apparently has been getting loads of praise for his performances.

2:30pm - last day of Bundesliga. Sky Mix (416) has Dortmunds game on. Sky Arena (408) has Bayern's game. Also I believe every single game happening in the Bundesliga has something resting on it.

6:00pm - final day in Portugal. Title still to be decided. Benfica currently top and at home to bottom club. BT Sport often show Portuguese football but have opted not to show the final day?!

8:00pm - final day of Segunda. 8pm is kick off for the games with potential promotion.
