I maybe the only one here who traveled to Carlisle the last we played them! A midweek game on the old Smith’s coaches. A 12 hour round trip arrived back in Reading around 4am and went to college that day. Needless to say I won’t be going this season.

The LAST fixture was played on: 8 May 1982, Reading 2-2 Carlisle United. The last visit to Brunton Park was on Tuesday 23 March 1982 and, as usual for a midweek away game, Reading lost 2-1

Saw that in the Sutton friendly, 4 cones (two midway behind each touchline in each half) with a ball boy sat alongside who throws the ball that is on top of (or alongside) the cone to the players as soon as a ball comes out of play. The ball that goes out of play is then collected by the ballboy ready for the next time.
