Guirassy scores again for Stuttgart to make it 14 in 8 games this season, albeit he may now miss a few games with an unconfirmed 'muscle problem'.

Some guy called Harold Edward Kane now has 10 goals and 5 assists in 11 games for Bayern. He could be decent.

17 year old Marc Guiu scored with his first possession in professional football. And it was a winner for Barcelona at the Nou Camp.

I am being a pedant but it wasn't at the Nou Camp. It was at that shitty little stadium they are having to play in whilst the Nou Camp is being redeveloped.

Without Googling, how old would you say Alphonso Davies is?

Feels like he's been around forever. I would've guessed 25/26.

I only said that because I remember he started in the first team extremely young, wanna say 16 maybe. Would love to see him in the Premier League, right playing style for it.

Same as Arjen Robben when he was at Chelsea, although he had the unfortunate issue of looking like he was 26/27 when he was 19.

And Yakubu was only 23 when we signed him.

I would've said 32, but assuming he's younger, otherwise you wouldn't have asked, so 28.

Was just listening to French football journalist Philippe Auclaire on a podcast chatting about the weeks football and he said Antoine Griezmann is in the top 3 all time footballers for the French national team, alongside Platini & Zidane. He has talked up Griezmann's impact for the national team before, compared to the sometimes underwhelming club football he has played at times, and has often said how for the national team he regularly plays in positions that are not where he should be, and is happy sacrificing himself for the team and puts in so much effort that he has achieved great success with them

Interesting to see how players are viewed in one country to others I guess

Yeh, that's mental. Always saw Griezmann as a Thomas Muller dependable type. Probably wouldn't have him in my top 10 French players, let alone top 3.

Now he might be able to resolve Reading's LB issues (but probably not under the current management).

Not worth a new thread, but it feels to me a little sycophantic on the part of the football industry to be, as rumoured, awarding Lionel Messi an 8th Ballon D'Or. Yes, Argentina won the World Cup, but the football world doesn't 'owe' Messi another award in honour of that achievement. Was he the best player in the world during the 22/23 season? He scored 21 goals and registered 20 assists for PSG in 42 games before his move to the sub-standard MLS. A very good return of course. But best in the world, ahead of Mbappe and Haaland? Come on now.
