FA Youth cup 2023/24

[Royals and Racers]

The Royals now come in to the competition at the first round stage which is likely to be drawn by early next week. The rounds come fast and furious, as the matches should be completed by 4th November with the 2nd round by 25th November.
Currently the comp is at the 3rd qualifying round stage and it all started back in August with the Extra preliminary round followed swiftly by the preliminary round and 1st and 2nd qualifying rounds.
Already victorious in the current round and in the hat for round 1 are Thame Utd who last evening beat Basingstoke town 4-0. Aldershot and Oxford City also through.
Also in action on Thursday evening this week are Reading City who make the long away trip to play Torquay Utd - the match is being played at Buckland Ath FC`s ground in Newton Abbott.- MATCH POSTPONED

Only those players are eligible to take part who have reached the age of 15 years by
midnight on 31 August of the current season and not reached the age of 18 years as at
midnight on 31 August of the current season. (For season 2023-24, a player must have
been born on or after 1 September 2005 and before 1 September 2008).

The FA website says that Reading City v Torquay is now being played at Reading City next Thursday.- now confirmed by Reading City KO 7pm.

Local team Thame Utd played their round 1 tie tonight against Forest Green Rovers at home.
Thame raced into a 3 goal lead and just before half time FGR got a penalty to go in 3-1 down. The 2nd half was all FGR as they scored 5 without reply to win 6-3.
