Winston Biscuit Got to have some kind of mentality to be able to do that.

Several youngsters appear to have come through with this type of mentality (Palmer, Mainoo, Foden, Saka, Bellingham etc)

Have they played in the same England age group at any stage?

Winston Biscuit PL top goalscorer. Cole has an extra game than the rest left to play too

9 of Palmers goals are penalties. Look at Watkins, no penalties and more assists. Villa would struggle without him. If Arsenal had him they would be out of sight now.

After a really poor season struggling in the bottom half, Doncaster have won 10 of the last 12 (including 8 straight wins) and have a great chance of finishing in the play offs!

Heard some stats the other day like that where they compared PL goalscorers by minutes per goal with penalties removed. Watkins and Nunez were the 2 impressive ones iirc

Tbf to Palmer they are still pressure situations. No-one was fighting to take the 96th min penalty in the Utd game

Andy Cole had ridiculous numbers for someone who didn't take pens

Royal Rother Arteta got that so wrong today.

What a weekend for Man City though. Beyond their wildest dreams!

Very odd to drop Jorginho after his and Rice’s dominance since the turn of the year

Very strange selection. Again questions should be asked of Arteta. Strange subs and starting lineup. How does Martinelli not start also.
He was outthought today by a better manager and one that was never given the time or money, and whose team won an FA Cup.
In 4 hours a close race has just become one sided.

It’s a psychological thing IMO when you overthink things under pressure - Guardiola did something similar against Chelsea in the CL final a few years back and ended up dropping Rodri which was a costly mistake as Chelsea’s goal came from Rodri’s area!

Can’t see City relinquishing the lead now. Tend to struggle at Spurs but even so, can’t see Liverpool or Arsenal winning all their games

Yep, Cole scored one penalty in his career, he has 186 non-penalty goals, second only to Shearer on 204.

Shearer 204
Cole 186
Rooney 185
Kane 180
Aguero 157
Henry 152
Ferdinand 149
Defoe 148
Fowler 146
Owen 137

Les Ferdinand didn't score a single PL penalty. Mane, Heskey and Crouch are the three other players to have reached 100 PL goals without a single penalty, albeit Scholes only scored one, and Giggs two.

Alan Shearer scored 56 PL penalties. Lampard next with 43.

Franchise FC If Chelsea had a goalscorer …

They do, but unfortunately all the good chances fell to a hapless donkey.

They always say that goalscorers are the rarest breed, but my goodness, the fact that 4 of the supposed big 6 have Jackson, Nunez, Hoijlund and Jesus as their main strikers really underlines that.

Yesterday was such a perfect example
And he didn’t really need to be amazing, just competent would probably have been enough

Langstaff was top goalscorer in the Conf North 2 seasons ago, top goalscorer in the national league last season and is now top goalscorer in League 2 this season

Someone in L1 or the Champ is surely going to go in for him this summer?!

That's just nonsense.
Just because a player does well with one club doesn't guarantee that he would fit in and do the same with another club.

Villa focus on Watkins as their main striker , as did Spurs, and their method of play is to make chances for that one player rather than create chances in general like Liverpool for example where the front 3 interchange positions and nobody is that sole striker.

I like Watkins who has done brilliantly, improving each season from his early days at Exeter, and he will have had a great season if Villa do (let's hope so) clinch that 4th spot but there is no guarantee that he would have fitted in with Arsenal's style of play.

I have no particular interest in either side, but just what do Forest need to do to get penalty.

Three time Ashley Young has done more than enough to give one away (ok, so I’ll accept it’s two and a half), but the most recent is waved away because ‘he got the ball’ when the pictures show he clearly didn’t and yet no VAR overturn

If referees get 95% of decisions correct (their own stats, not mine) and VAR is supposed to get 99% of the referred decisions correct, we should be seeing very close to perfection.
I suppose we are … it’s perfectly flawed

Three extremely poor decisions - three penalties not given - which we simply cannot accept.

We warned the PGMOL that the VAR is a Luton fan before the game but they didn’t change him. Our patience has been tested multiple times.

NFFC will now consider its options.

Lol.
