Sanguine I think it's great. A nod to our history. But white shorts would work better. The effect of the pattern is to lose to the vibrancy of the blue in the shirt - so the shorts look like they are a different shade.

Agree that the shade of blue on the shirt looks different to the colour of the shorts/socks

Also, read on Twitter earlier that ladies teams prefer dark shorts so they wouldn't have gone with white and guess you want both men's and women's kits the same

Its a kit that will grow on you and to be fair it is unique and has the heritage and culture aspect nailed down :D , but in all honesty the kit could have been Pink and Yellow and modelled by Mr Blobby and i really wouldn't have cared because we have a club to support!!!!
Now next years could be interesting as this shirt was clearly designed within the old regime so will be interested if our American leaders will come up with something different?

Scutterbucketz I’d be up for changing our nickname back to The Biscuitmen.

The Royal family haven’t exactly covered themselves in glory of late. Time to distance ourselves from them before one of them bangs a child and then buys them off again.

You know when some pr1ck at school gave themselves a nickname? Didn't you hate him? "The Royals" is just marketing.

We always have been and always will be the Biscuitmen.

Now's the time to change our nickname back to The Biscuitmen. "The Royals" has always been a pretty pathetic nickname.

+1

I'm not old enough to remember us being called 'the biscuitmen' but I never liked the nickname 'the royals' as I don't particularly like the royal family, but besides that they have sweet oxf*rd all to do with our club anyway.

Quite like our relatively new nickname of 'The Ding' though, at least it's original and unique to us, and doesn't feel fake and manufactured like 'the royals'.

As for the new home kit, it's a bit too white for my liking. I tend to prefer our home shirts being more on the blue side than the white side, especially prefer an all blue back to an all white back, but that wouldn't have worked with this shirt. The blue shorts and socks should provide the contrast it needs. I like the shirts reference to our history, if not much else.

I'm not convinced for one moment that the women's team's preferences would dictate what colour shorts the men's club decides on.

There are sound biological reasons why women prefer dark shorts when playing sports...

Because it drives them mad when they can’t get the grass stains out of white shorts?

I am of the Biscuitmen days, but I am far more uninspired by the name of our Ground.

I think the white shorts and socks means you lose the blue in the pattern personally. But then I'm colourblind
