Player alright, we look good in midfield but we really are light up front. A goal scorer is a priority.

Enjoyed that, thought Reading played really well. Defended well first half, took the game by the scruff in the last half hour or so. Should’ve had a penalty.

A LOT of Spurs in the home end. Also, Van de Ven is a specimen

Pretty enjoyable game

The starting front 3 didn’t look especially sharp but that’s a decent defence they’re up against. I thought they did ok and while yes we need another body in there, I wouldn’t be upset to start the season with those 3

Savage was excellent. O’Connor and Burns look a good pair. Stickland did well as well

Most impressive was the lad who came on at RB - Ahmed. Was quality and bullied Son. Almost scored as well with a great effort, and almost had an assist for Osho who looks decent as well. Borgnis also impressed - very quick in the midfield.

Downsides - Sackey struggled a bit - albeit again against some quality players. Abrefa lost focus and a few tackles a couple of times. Burns injury. Goals were a bit soft.

Fairly happy overall though - the last 20 I thought were very encouraging

Noel's post match comments:

Burns - hoping he's ok
Knibbs - missed game through injury but admits there's championship interest, but won't go unless the price is right.
Kelvin E - agreed to sign but hasn't put pen to paper yet.

There was always going to be loads of them in the SJM. It's not really a big deal.

But wearing Spurs merch in the home end? That's a level of arrogance I find detestable. And, frankly, typical Spurs, who I irrationally hate to an absurd degree.

We did you say ‘thought Reading played really well’ instead of ‘thought we played really well’

Ah, lovely to see a lack of empty blue seats again….just like the good old days,
Rose Kiln Lane and Berkeley Avenue gridlocked again 8) , but after weeks (if not months) of inactivity at the ‘road improvement’ roadworks, they decide to resume it (by reducing the southbound lanes to a single carriageway) the day before todays game  needless to say, there was/is nobody working there this weekend……anyways, back to the football

Just got back

Ahmed, Camara were plusses - Ahmed in particularly looks keen as mustard, I'd be starting him v Portsmouth. Garcia was ok in places too. We should have had a pen in the second half after an obvious handball that the ref must have been blinded to. O'Mahoney's foul in the first half was a straight red from my handy vantage point of the other side of the ground.

Vuskovic and Kudus caught the eye for them.

We were in the UW, it was chock-a-block full of Spurs fans. Ended up chatting to a chap about different parkruns in southern England - he seemed to think Lydiard (ie Swindon) was his favourite which I thought was a bit niche.

We're badly short up front.

Overall thought we did ok against far superior opponents whose team of stars worth 100s of millions against our team who only have just been able to sign players again since like forever :D , Kudus alone cost them 55 mil however after watching his second half cameo he looks pretty special.
The first half was kind of dull with our more experienced players being very conservative and not willing to give it a go as opposed to the second half where our younger players seemed to play without any fear and gave it a good go late on which is great to see.
I thought Ahmed, Bourgnis and Osho stood out in the second half and hope they get a chance to show their worth this season.
My biggest worry is losing Knibbs, he was our link up player to our strikers and could also score goals himself. Most teams who get promoted have a 15/20 goal striker in their ranks.....not only do we need to find the next Knibbs i think we need another striker to back up O'Mahoney up top.

I suspect the bandage was gifted to him by Tom Ince when he left the club

No way were 22000 there today, watched on Royals tv and the East stand was nowhere near full, loads of empty seats visible in every stand in view of the camaras
