Two shocking penalties from Mbuemo. He was lucky the first one wasn't saved.

Pretty pathetic that Amorim wouldn't watch the pens. Hardly screams strong leader.

Or that their new £75m striker didn't want to be one of the first to take a penalty.

Having watched his interview afterwards - he's done. He is basically signposting his impending resignation or sacking.

It's an interesting to see how hard it is to turn around a large, failing organisation. Ratcliffe is now running football operations, the entire football ops team has pretty much changed. They appointed a sought after manager and have backed him in the transfer market, on paper I thought signings like Mbeumo and Cunha were good, and on paper there is plenty of quality in the squad. They played great against Arsenal but lost, and the following 2 games have shown the same old vulnerabilities. It doesn't look like they're moving forward, and would anything he surprised if they lose to Burnley on Saturday?

How do you break the cycle of mediocrity? The glaring error this summer was failing to recruit a GK, but anyone who thinks signing Donurumma on TDD (which won't happen) will fix their problems is kidding themselves.

It's also interesting to see that despite everything the lure of Man Utd remains. Sesko could have gone to Newcastle, Mbeumo could have gone to Spurs but both chose Man Utd over Champions League football, at a club where many promising careers over the past decade have stalled or died. How long will this last?

Makes you nostalgic for the Glazers.

I've been saying it for ages, Ratcliffe does not "get" sport. United are going nowhere with him at the helm.

There should be an amnesty during which those that backed the wrong team to reflect glory on them can change to Liverpool, no questions asked.

Lol I know someone who went from Liverpool to Spurs for precisely that reason, mainly because Rodgers was shit and Pochettino was new and sexy. A month later, Liverpool appointed Klopp and it still winds them up when I remind them about it.

I find that interesting, as there is only so long the 'big club' lure lasts as youngsters growing up will not consider them a big club if they haven't won things while they have been watching them. (perception is reality)

When Man Utd last secured the Premier League title, Sesko was 9 years old (and in Slovenia). There are obviously ways of selling the idea of a club to someone to get them to want to be part of something, but I reckon if they had told him that Man Utd were the biggest club in England he would have thought they had lost their minds

Only Serie A's Genoa - who won just one of their first 10 league games last season - have failed to score a first-half goal on more occasions than United since the start of the 2024-25 campaign, among clubs from Europe's top five leagues
