48 teams, so many of those group games are going to be pointless.

windermereROYAL How do Mexico Canada and USA get in pot one? those groups are ridiculous

Vain attempt by FIFA to try and extend interest in the competition for the fan of each of Canada & the US.

England have got a very dull group, wanted something really different but got bloody Croatia again and another African side we’ve played before. Scotland have got their usual group of embarrassment, they’ll likely beat Brazil, draw with Morocco and lose to Haiti. Group E is just :?

Qualifiers will be -

Group A
Mexico
Denmark
Group B
Switzerland
Italy
Group C
Brazil
Scotland
Group D
Paraguay
Turkey
Group E
Germany
Ecuador
Group F
Netherlands
Poland
Group G
Belgium
Egypt
Group H
Spain
Uruguay
Group I
France
Norway
Group J
Argentina
Austria
Group K
Portugal
Columbia
Group L
England
Croatia

Might England get Ronaldo in the round of 32? :o

Only watched a third of that draw and it was a complete embarrassment.

And there are simply too many teams in the tournament.

We should win our group fairly comfortably though.

Can we now assume that Infantino is another person Trump has given a blow job to?

Can't help but feel that, with 48 teams and an endlessly convoluted qualifying process that also pretty much guarantees qualification for many before a ball is even kicked, the World Cup is now in its Jumping the Shark phase.

Not to state the bleeding obvious but it's FIFA money grab. The World Cup used to be sacrosanct but I honestly don't think I can be bothered with it anymore.

Know the feeling; endless chances for the “failures” to qualify (eg. Nations League  ), red cards for violent conduct don’t provide for 3 game suspensions (unless you’re a nobody of course), all host nations seeded at the top to try and prolong their involvement and local interest (never mind that reducing the utterly reprehensible ticket pricing would help encourage locals, in the “what’s football” environment that is North America, to go to a game), baffling and utterly cringeworthy draws drawn out for as long as possible (why the **** can’t you have nations in the same federation drawn together  ), pointless groups in the groups stage (eg Group E) where all the top seed has to do is basically turn up for a game), then there’s all the deals and sponsorships with the usual boring big corporates to the exclusion of opportunity for the local businesses and so on….
