A couple of proper local derbies in the south with teams only a few miles apart and some tense local rivalry:-

Wimborne v Poole
Dorchester v Weymouth

Guaranteed four figure crowds at both and probably a few red cards.

Depends how far south you count, dont forget Croydon vs SE Dons

The former were top last year for ages, then the latter ended up raiding them for their manager and best players and there has been huge bad blood since then (including a very very unsavoury incident with a Croydon official and him saying stuff about one of the recently deceased SE Dons players dads on the sidelines out loud to them and him then having to wisely/luckily run out the ground with protection :| :evil:)

...got my ticket (Home 'fan') for 'Magpies' v 'Rebels' @ York Rd tomorrow (26th)
- hope RBWM aren't being 'scroogey' on holiday parking charges like they were last year? :?

...need to decide on a Sat PM venue now ..... probably plump for a 'soft' option at Binfield though the fixture itself (v Bedfont Sports) is not that attractive ....
- also looking sideways at Guildford City, who welcome runaway leaders Cobham in the CCL-PS for the potential 'carnage' effect....doesn't always make for a decent game ....
- have a personal aversion to venturing inside the M25 on a holiday w/e - otherwise Chertsey v leaders W&H looked promising?

Going to Boxng Day local derby between Devizes and Calne. Devizes are unbeaten in the league this season, suspect they will remain do.

- good crowd there too 511 (and Devizes won 4-1 I see) - actually some big crowds all around the Western League, even in Div One.
- I have tended to shun that rather of late as the 'footprint' has drifted much further west, what with all the Cornwall/Devon clubs being drawn in over the last couple of years.

Don't think the remaining 'Brizzle/Zummerset' clubs are too happy about that trend but the alternative for them is to drop out or hop over to the Hellenic League. Most of them appear to have gravitated down into the lower level anyway - with only about half a doz. left up in the Premier.
Admittedly Clevedon Town sit top of the pile currently.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Will combine the Review of 26th & 27th results later......
Possibly off to Hungerford this PM : though not keen on M'ways over Xmas/NY ## ... Binfield/Fleet/Guildford/Ash more likely venues for me.
## i.e. M25 clockwise reportedly had 45 min delays between 15 & 17 yesterday PM
Was at the Dorchester game. Game delayed owing to crowd congestion Weymouth won 2 - 1. Unofficial crowd of 4,025. Can’t recall a crowd of this size for step 3 game. Also 2,500 at Wimborne
Cracking win for Bracknell v high flying Farnham yesterday
2.0 in quite a cagey game, Farnham put the pressure on at the end but huffed and puffed to nothing eventually
Great crowd as well with 1300 in attendance
A few Royals in attendance with the standard heckling from BigFoot in the main stand as I wandered past ;)
Some incredible crowds in the National League yesterday with York having over 7000 which is way more than they were getting as a league club.
There really wasn't a lot of difference between that league and DIv 2 so will the eagerly awaited and hoped for revised relegation and promotion extensions mean a proper Div 3 being created?
- another with no progs available :| - also got one o' they QR code thingies to d/load from but it wasn't up to date.
