We should be fine. We've still got Lane, Doyle, Ritchie, Ehibhatiomhan, Camara, and Osho.

Mid Sussex Royal
morganb Leam Richardson has revealed to The Reading Chronicle that Daniel Kyerewaa will be 'out for some time'.

(Up to 8 weeks is mentioned in the comments -

8 weeks I’ve heard from speaking to George Friel [who?])

Was an ex player from 80's or 90's....but never a regular. Think he played for a few local non league clubs after he left us.

19 appearances and 1 goal in the early 90s. Always remember him like a “rabbit in the headlights’ in the FA Cup debacle at Colchester.

Do we know what the injury is? If he's injured due to kicking the back of a player's studs, does that suggest a potential bone break?

Leam gives #ReadingFC injury update:

Rino - Best he's looked since returning. Set to play 45mins for U21s on Saturday.

D. Williams - Not fully in training but progressed really well. A week ahead of schedule.

R. Williams - Being careful as injury can repeat quite easy.

The U21s are playing Stoke again. Certainly makes sense for Rino for feature for the U21s before coming back into the first team picture.

Hopefully Derrick Williams is back soon, as I think he's been our best defender this season. Good that he's progressing well.

Being careful with Randell Williams is a positive move, especially as we aren't desperate for him to get back at the moment. Still a loss for us not to have him as an option, even if he was coming off the bench.

Leam Richardson gives #ReadingFC injury update:

• Derrick Williams doing well, probably another 10 days off.

• Randell Williams probably a little bit after that, another couple of weeks.

• Will Keane still out but not as bad as first thought after a second opinion.

No mention of DK

Last I heard was they were going to need more tests on Kyerewaa and that he would be out for an extended period, whatever that means.

Bugger me, the first two are pretty much exactly what I guessed at to Lux a few days ago. Tbf, Randell at the closer end of a range.

Is this a new injury or why he's been out of the squad for the past weeks?

Reading FC's Haydon Roberts to be out of squad for a month (Reading Chronicle) Leam Richardson has said that Haydon Roberts would be side-lined for a long period after picking up a hamstring injury.

Haydon Roberts, who had just come back into the starting XI after being rested in the 3-2 clash with Wycombe Wanderers, went down holding his hamstring just 17 minutes into the Bolton Wanderers game last Tuesday and was subsequently replaced with Paddy Lane.

At first the injury was thought to be less serious but after having scans it was revealed that the hamstring injury was 'complex'.

Richardson told The Reading Chronicle: "It's obviously still in the week, on Tuesday evening, wasn't it? So yeah, still short but I think it was going to be four to six weeks."

Another notable absence from the squad is winger Daniel Kyerewaa who came off hobbling in the second half of the 2-2 draw against Exeter City earlier this month.

He picked up the injury when he looked to clear the ball after an Exeter corner, the winger ended up kicking a player's studs with full strength.

Last week Richardson said that Kyerewaa was due to remove his leg-brace this Tuesday and would be continuing his recovery.

When asked for an injury update, he told The Reading Chronicle: "Just ticking away, coming on slowly. We'll just have to take it day by day, week by week, guided by the professionals and he'll be seeing the surgeon again in a week or two.

"So we'll see."

Will Keane was also absent for the Port Vale clash on Saturday, which left many questions as to his fitness since he had returned to action against Bolton Wanderers mid-week after being absent since going down with a groin injury against Wimbledon earlier this month.

Richardson said that he is still coming back to fitness and was being examined.

Reading FC boss on substitution decisions against Port Vale Leam Richardson has revealed why Brighton loanee Kamari Doyle and Aston Villa loanee Kadan Young were substituted out of the Port Vale game in the second-half despite their solid performances.

Reading FC’s two most efficient attackers against Port Vale on Saturday in Doyle and Young were both substituted out in the second-half to the surprise of Royals' fans - with Kadan having won the penalty that left Reading in the lead for the majority of the game.

Kadan Young specifically was electric on the left-wing, always making runs in-behind finding space to receive the ball and using his pace to get in-behind George Hall and Kyle John. His inter-play with Kamari Doyle caused Port Vale all sorts of issues for Port Vale's defence in the first-half but the team squandered in the second.

On the other-hand Kamari Doyle was Reading's creative midfielder on the day having created three chances for Reading and passing three times into the final third - whilst also taking a couple shots himself.

Many questions arose after the Port Vale game as to why Richardson would substitute out his best two attacking players on the day, with Jack Marriott unable to make his mark at Vale Park.

The two Brighton and Hove Albion and Aston Villa loanees were replaced by Randell Williams who had just returned from his injury and Paddy Lane.

When asked for the reason behind the substitutions, Richardson told The Reading Chronicle: "Kadan Young was struggling with his hamstring.

"Kamari Doyle was struggling with illness and he's played a lot of games."
