Championship teams vote in favour of six team play offs

3rd and 4th straight through to two-leg semi finals
One-off one-leg quarter finals between 5th vs 8th and 6th vs 7th

So basically the top 33% of the Championship will either be, or have a chance to be promoted,

You could easily see a side sit around 13th or 14th all season, hit a winning run in the last 8 or so games to climb to 8th and use momentum to get to the PL.

It's clearly just a bigger safety net for relegated PL sides.

On average 66-69pts will be enough to make the play-offs.

So a 2 legged semi final is just delayed until you know who you`re playing until after the eliminators, just give the highest teams a 1 off game ffs.
