Getting in after kick off?

by scutterbucket » 10 Sep 2006 12:37

My old man probably won't make it to the game on Monday much before half time. Whats the policy with late arrivals? I know they put the fence up but can people still get in?

I was magnificently 25 minutes late for the Watford game last season. No problems getting in (East Stand). The fence is up, and there's a steward on the door bit of it to let you in.

I would imagine parking would be a problem.

Scutters - If it's the West Lower and the turnstyles are closed you have to bang on the emergency exit and the steward on guard duty will let you in.

Probably the same around the other stands as they have to man the emergency exits to prevent them being opened in a non emergency (not allowed to keep them locked for obvious reasons).

How does the steward know you have a valid ticket if the turnstiles are closed?

One turnstile is kept open, usually. I arrived 20 mins into the Brighton game last year.

A few season ago I was coaching a junior football team which trained on a Monday night and I arrived during half time on a couple of occasions. I just knocked/banged on the door and once my season ticket was inspected I was let in. Parking was not a problem as the club car park didn't fill up in those days. Can't say if it would be as easy these days though.

I was late for one game last season and missed Shoreys free-kick, this was due to drinking in The Black Boy and then realising we didnt have enough room for everyone in a car

They checks it..... although I guess they should scan it in somewhere really to ensure it's legit.

The one time I was running late they just checked I just flashed my season ticket and they let me in.
