Agree with pretty much all of that.Wycombe Royal wrote:As I've said before I don't think we will see mass departures of key players.
Shorey I am 99% certain will be gone.
Hunt I am 95% certain will be gone.
Doyle 50/50 - it depends if someone is willing to match our valuation of him which will be very high.
Lita - I think there is more chance of him now staying
Matejovsky - he has not shown anything so far that will tempt a club to bid big for him. We won't sell him on the cheap and I think that is why he will stay.
But at the end of the day it all comes down to clubs wanting our players enough to offer an amount we deem acceptable. And that is why most of this squad will stay together in my opinion.
I said KEY playersHoop Blah wrote:On top of your list Wycombe I think we'll see Oster, De La Cruz, Stack, Fae and a few of the kids leaving.

As much as I hate to criticize players and I actually like Oster, you have just summed up why we've gone down. He's served us well, but I think it's time to move on and give Kebe, Henry and hopefully Little a chance next year.Hoop Blah wrote:I know...I was just expanding on the debateWycombe Royal wrote:I said KEY playersHoop Blah wrote:On top of your list Wycombe I think we'll see Oster, De La Cruz, Stack, Fae and a few of the kids leaving.
(wasn't Oster key this season though?)
Hasn't our problem been that we don't have any Premiereship superstars?Jackson Corner wrote:Our Premiership superstars won't fancy Burnley away on Tuesday night in Febuary. Expect a lot of changes.
Hunt/Doyle to Sunderland
Shorey to West Ham
Lita to Bristol City
Bikey, Marek Fae back to Europe
Harper to Fulham
Kitson to Stoke

If Matejovsky plays well at the Euros we may struggle to hold on to him but cannot see us selling him for less than £5M which will be an excellent profit after 6 months.

And Fae..decent offer...any offer would be acceptable, but doubt we will recive one for a player that has proved to be shite and has caused trouble through some of his comments and actions.

Matejovsky is under contract to RFC and will stay unless we get a suitable offer - I would think £5M for a top quality 27 year old midfielder would be cheap these days if he does do well at the Euro Championships as I said.
As for Fae club said they would only sell if we get back he bulk of our money so approx £1.5 to £2M I would expect. He was a top player in France and his old team have just been promoted so may well want him back.
I rest my case.andrew1957 wrote: I will freely admit that I was complacent and that I know a lot less about football than I thought.

PS he's not top quality. He's good, but he's not great. I think it depends on the Euros.andrew1957 wrote:No what world do you live in?Big Ern wrote:£5millionandrew1957 wrote:

Put some of our better players into a better side where they have better players around them and they'll make good Premiership players. Put them in a side that is low on confidence, lacking in competition and with complacency setting in where they need to carry players not up to the task and you'll see players struggling to keep a side above water.andrew1957 wrote:Most posters on Hobnob having been saying for months that we are down the bottom because we did not buy better players and now they are saying we will lose our stars to the PL. Well you cannot have it both ways.
I think the club would bite the hands off anyone offering £5m for a player we paid just over £1m for and then failed to make a big enough impact to maintain a place in a side that didn't score a goal for over 9 hours.andrew1957 wrote:Matejovsky is under contract to RFC and will stay unless we get a suitable offer - I would think £5M for a top quality 27 year old midfielder would be cheap these days if he does do well at the Euro Championships as I said.

If you read my earlier post you will see that what I was saying is that unless we get a good offer I think it is unlikely he will go. Clearly "if" he does well at the Euros and we got a £5M offer we would most likely sell.Hoop Blah wrote:Put some of our better players into a better side where they have better players around them and they'll make good Premiership players. That is the difference. Doyle as a squad player at a Villa > Doyle as an undropable part of a relegated first choice XI.

He's looked good, and a clever passer of the ball, but he's not been any better than promising really has he? If he does well at the Euro's it will boost his price a bit, but unless he really sets the world alight then £5m will see him gone in a flash.

Exactly, and that he wants a move back up north? Now I could have sworn that he joined us because he wanted to move back down south? Isn't he a Londoner?Smoking Kills Dancing Doe wrote:Yeah.brendywendy wrote:gutted if this is trueKes wrote:Little is on his way out. According to the PEOPLE

But they said Little wanted to leave cause he hadn't figured in Coppell's plans this season.
