We can't just say come along, as on a matchday the club has to know who is in the stadium before the gates open, so we will need to know who is coming.

Closing Y26 has really made it hard to get tickets for matches now. I've just been looking at the availability of tickets for the Norwich game on 13th December, and it's really hard to find a pair of seats higher than row D anywhere other than the north-east corner. It was always possible to get two or three seats at a reasonable height even at quite short notice. Seeing as my mate and I gave up our season-tickets because he's often uncertain about work commitments until quite late in the day, that has been really handy.

As a goodwill gesture, if the club insists on closing Y26, could they at least ban the oxf*rd drums? Having only managed to escpae the drummers at the start of the season, it's bloody annoying that it looks like I'll be spending the rest of the season even closer to them for the rest of this season

I've not heard of any racist abuse from Y26, or anywhere else for that matter, this season.

I've heard the chant to a steward, likening him to Mr Kitson - but is that racist? I don't think so - but I dont want this thread turned into another is it or is not racist thread.

Homophobic chants have been sung in the past from the area - however not this season IIRC...

I'm not saying there is, and for what it's worth the only thing I've ever found offensive at the Madejski is someone continually calling Seol "Ting Tong".

Where I sit, and my attendence to home matches has no relevancy to my point.

I'm not a season ticket holder, however over the years my 14 year old son and I have never had a problem getting tickets to any game due to the number of "Royalty Points" we've accumilated.

We love sitting in Y26 due to the atmosphere not to mention that you get a crackin' view from the higher seats.

Anyway, last week we had to get tickets for Y19 and my son HATED it. No atmosphere, sat in front of a bunch of 40-something's who did nothing but slag off Stephen Hunt and make "witty" remarks about all the other players! My son and I ended laughing AT them and not WITH them as they really were like Harry Enfield characters!

I phoned my mate down in Y26 who told me there were loads of seats and all the stewards were doing was checking that you had a Membership card or Season Ticket. At half-time we moved and enjoyed the second half surrounded by people that WANT to get involved, WANT to shout and get behind the team and above all don't sit there slagging the players off. Yes you do hear swearing, yes you do get to see hand gestures and general banter between the fans......but it's nothing worse than kids see on TV and the langauge I'm sure they've already heard in the school playground.

Football is supposed be be about supporting your club and the team, but this decision will just make the Reading FC matchday experience even quieter and could end up hurting the club's fan base.

This is why I have a season ticket in Y26

If things remain the same I will not renew next year - I didn't buy a season ticket to sit among empty seats and experience a cr*p atmosphere

And in any case the bad language and gestures seem to come from Y25 as much as Y26

I have arranged for the safety officer to attend a meeting at the stewards training room at 1pm on Saturday.

The safety officer is hoping to have the police liaison officer and the chief steward and tango there, so I would hope we will have a productive discussion for all involved.

True, a lot of people near around where I sit use bad language and gestures.
Y26 is closer to all those stewards, and some of them are pretty annoying, they love it if they don't have to do as much work.

After reading that RFC have sold 23,000 for tomorrows game - i'd just thought i'd check to see what was left to be sold online - oh look - Y26 NOW AVAILABLE!!

So RFC refuse to sell those seats with high numbers of royalty points, but will see when the tickets are on general sale - this club is a shambles...

TBH - that is an utter shambles from the club's point of view, and to a lesser extent from the fans' point of view.

How many people that now want tickets (and thus have to buy them in Y26) won't buy them as their seats are too near the away end for their liking? I'm thinking families with kids and also our older (i.e. of pension age) supporters.

And how many supporters that would have preferred to sit in Y26 but bought tickets in other areas of the ground due to lack of availability are now annoyed that their original seat choice is now on sale?

Hopefully there will be none of the perceived "trouble" this weekend so that the powers that be can find something esle to go on a crusade about and re-open ticket sales to all areas of the ground at the same time rather than at a time when it suits them.

I, for one, won't be holding my breath.
