We did surprisingly poorly (relatively speaking) against top teams that season too, especially given how well we did in the following Premier League season. Of our thirteen draws, eight came against the top eight; our two defeats were against mid-table sides.

I think it is now nearing odds on Birmingham will do it. Somewhat sad it was them in a poor league but I suppose it was always gonna be something like that.

It'll all come down to whether they keepgoing to the end, after they've already been promoted. Having to fit in another couple of games on most other teams may play a part too.

We were 3 points ahead of them at this point, so they have to finish stronger than we did.

Not to mention that we'd played 29 games by late January, by now we'd got through about 34 games, so they've got to fit a lot more into the end of the season... and we picked up 11 out of 15 points in those 5 games.

James Trafford last conceded in the 80th minute of the Watford game, that plus 11 games = 1000 minutes.

So if he keeps a clean sheet until at least the 75th minute then he breaks the EFL record, suppose Death would still retain the record in tier 4 but it keeps losing value starting when Van der Sar first broke the overall record.

I don't think so because added on time is to make up for the time lost due to stoppages so play time is meant to still only be 90 minutes.

That said I tried to add up Van der Sar's record to see if that reasoning matched up to the recorded 1311 minutes, he last conceded in the 48th minute of a 2-1 loss to Arsenal, so 42 minutes there, it ended after 32 minutes of a 2-1 win against Blackburn, so in total 74 minutes, plus 14 clean sheets between, another 1260 minutes, plus the additional 74 is 1334 minutes, which weirdly doesn't add up, it would be even more extreme if you included additional time.

I blame the commentators and stadium announcers for this. It's not really 'added time' (there is never more than 90 minutes active play in a normal game i.e. non-cup with potential extra time). It's actually stoppage time, replacing time lost due to stoppages earlier in the game.
