What mitigation for his Rotherham record? Even with a bad team, you should win more than 2 from 24!

yeah, I was very impressed. strong on man-management - I genuinely respect the bit about going off to do a degree in social work, good vision, seems to relish a challenge. OK, this is an article written by him, but its got enough meat. Glad I found that. Good read.

Richardson seems to be a very Wycombey thing to do. So, it makes perfect sense I suppose.

I imagine that he will have to hit the ground running, otherwise he won’t have the latitude given to Noel due to Noel’s history with the club. Then I suppose it will be Redwood that start taking hostile fire. I am still surprised at the timing of Noel’s sacking. I think everyone would agree that performances on the pitch were improving.

Basically Leam Richardson got Portsmouth promoted from League 2, he left Pompey for Wigan after promotion to join up with Paul Cook and they promptly won promotion from League 1 so you can see the logical attraction and thinking behind this appointment. Therefore the guy has proven something. So much better at least than the idiocy that got us some of the previous incumbents.

I think the whole thing being about what a basket case Wigan were and how he dealt with that, sounds like he'd have been a great choice for the last couple of seasons... but we're beyond that phase now and in recovery
