Really surprised Rhino didn't get some game time, if you're on the bench then you must be fit enough to play? Would have thought with 30 mins to go and with us struggling to get anything going that would be an ideal time for him to sit deep and break up play allowing Wing and Savage to get forward.
Would also have been nice for him to receive a warm welcome back in front of a decent crowd. My only gripe about todays game other than the obvious striking deficiencies was the slow labored build up play and the constant lateral and backward passing!! mostly by Wing.

Is it weird that I can see why the handball wasn't given? Didn't look deliberate and the arm looks in a natural position. Think most refs would give that as a penalty but I can see by the definition of the law, it wouldn't be a foul for handball?

We weren’t great by any means but still made all the running and limited them to virtually nothing

We’re a way off being a good side yet due to some dodgy recruitment among other things but things are coming together I think

A positive is that this team is difficult to beat. 2 defeats in the last 13. Too many draws of course but not many teams get 3 points from us. You feel it needs a tweak or 2 tactically, a bit of confidence and then kick on.

There were far more kids there than usual, and I'm sure the fireworks were a big factor in that. Without fireworks, on a rainy day and an opposition that won't bring the fans in, I doubt we break 13000.

I agree with this, nothing seems to stick to him and he always seems to be a step behind every through ball.

I also think D Williams’ forward passing is a bit suspect. On several occasions he fired hard passes into the midfield which have too much on them and the likes of Doyle can’t control to do anything with them.

Ref didn’t just tolerate their shit housing and time-wasting; he practically ran a workshop on it. He wandered around like a substitute PE teacher who wants to get their own back on the kids.

That decision is going to hack off a lot of fans, not a particularly bright way for the management to start but get positive results and no one will care, don’t get the results though and it’ll be another stick to beat him with.

For the record Marriott’s problem was a hamstring and the last prognosis suggested he’d be back early-mid December.

Limited them to virtually nothing because they had no desire to add to their lead once they scored, spent most of the game defending what they had. Problem is, in those circumstances, we are so slow and ponderous going forward, we spend too much time going back and sideways, hence having to rely on worldies by Wing or Savage.
