It`s a recurring theme, we beat Stevenage and climbed 8 places to 12th, then after the Saturday games we were back down to 17th. have to say we look the 2nd weakest team after Port Vale in this league on current form.WestYorksRoyal wrote:League table partly shows the strength at the bottom. We were 6 points clear of the relegation zone; 2 losses and it's gone. That's unheard of. We'd normally still be 3 or 4 clear.

Can't take Brogue seriously tbf, his anti Couhig agenda has been blatant from day 1. We were in a similar position under SJM and it preceded our best ever decade.Hound wrote:Tbf based on who we signed I’m not especially optimisticBrogue wrote:Anyone who thinks we are going to bring in players up to standard who will improve the areas we need needs their head checking. And now we are scrabbling around at the bottom of the league it’s going to much harder to entice a player of a sufficient ability to join. Had we been knocking on the playoff door we could have potentially brought in a much better calibre of player. But no one’s going to join a club on the verge of relegation in January.Hound wrote:Tbf based on who we signed I’m not especially optimisticBrogue wrote:Anyone who thinks we are going to bring in players up to standard who will improve the areas we need needs their head checking. In 2000 we signed Martin Butler and Adie Williams. We're still a bigger draw than teams like Stevenage and Wimbledon.Brogue wrote:And now we are scrabbling around at the bottom of the league it’s going to much harder to entice a player of a sufficient ability to join. Ady was signed in the summer. And pardew was backed that season, butler cost 750k. You see us spending 750k on a striker in January?WestYorksRoyal wrote:In 2000 we signed Martin Butler and Adie Williams. Yes. We have several investors on board and the risk of relegation is much more costly.Brogue wrote:Ady was signed in the summer. And pardew was backed that season, butler cost 750k. The Wycombefication process is complete. First the owners. Then the staff. Finally the supporters.MR. CYNICAL wrote:You've obviously accepted that we are a lower end/ relegation threatened league one club, to be honest, I expected more after the takeover in the summer.Millsy wrote:No biggie really.
Away defeat against a likely autpro side.
Couldn't really expect more.
The real (and only, so far) calamity was the awful last game, which is still shocking and indefensible.

We were never in anything like this situation with John Madejski. He had the resources to get us out of trouble. Couhig does not. All he has is blind optimism, sound bites, and a retarded belief in AI.WestYorksRoyal wrote:Can't take Brogue seriously tbf, his anti Couhig agenda has been blatant from day 1. I'll judge Couhig on how he responds to things going badly instead of demanding instant results. God forbid, if we go down this season he can still salvage it if he's committed to learning from mistakes and leaving us in a better position.
This. The only time we had an enjoyable team on the pitch, it was accompanied by existential dread off it.windermereROYAL wrote:I just want to enjoy watching football again, it hasn`t been that way for a decade at least.

Yep, that something is the leadership group.Crowbar6753 wrote:The annoying and worrying thing for me is we sack Hunt and probably rightly so, form wasn't great, the style was boring and the fans were turning. We get a new manager in who knows this league and has a good pedigree in this league yet a month in and we are playing no different than when Hunty was in charge!! Same exact players and same formation and style so what was the point of change!!!
What's the saying, doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results!!!!
We now have what looks like a very experienced and capable management and coaching team in place so why are we not using their experience to change things up? Our midfield balance isn't working, fans have been calling this since the start of the season, these past two games both Wing and Savage have been terrible.....why the oxford did we get Rinhomota in if we're not going to play him and then send him off to Afcon whilst paying his wages!!!! Cardiff are top of the league and Rino was their player of the season last year yet he's not good enough to get in a relegation threatened team in a league below!!! something isn't quite right here.
Nearly 2 months… and had the fortunate position of having large breaks between games and lots of time on the training groundCrowbar6753 wrote:The annoying and worrying thing for me is we sack Hunt and probably rightly so, form wasn't great, the style was boring and the fans were turning.
