Would never say no chance but very unlikely in this scenario. Whereas you never know with the cup. Hypothetically, we could win against Cardiff and get the winner of Portsmouth/Barnsley for example. Then if you win that, you’re one game off Wembley

Of course, a result at Forest would change the mindset

Millwall, under Rowett, was always going to be a tough game but the reaction of some is staggering. The modern culture seems to be to revel in the shock and disgust at anything that happens.

Get a grip people. Talk of play off places is very optimistic and Bowen is still working with an inherited squad.

We've just come off the back of our best unbeaten run for a long time and god knows what the reaction will be like on here on Wednesday night if we lose again.......

That’s the reality. To make the play offs we have been playing catch up and it’s very hard to keep that going with such a tough run of fixtures.

What you do know with the Cup is that Reading have no chance of winning it and the prize money is barely a drop in the ocean when it comes to running a football club at this level.

The problem is we don’t have any easier fixtures coming up to bounce back.

We only have to win the easy/easier games to stay in our mid-table comfort zone. Which allows everyone to get on with things without the worry of relegation in the background.

I think it's important to have a season like that; the manager can concentrate on whats working and what's not on the pitch and the players can build up confidence and team spirit without as much pressure on their backs.

Blinking Nora, we've spent years flirting with relegation and suddenly because we're very very unlikely to make the Play Offs instead of very unlikely people are upset over our first defeat in 10 games.

Hows about we all enjoy a season of quiet improvement with nothing riding on it for a change.
