I renember when we won it in the 90's, the final was midweek.

The other point is that recently the cup competitions in the B & B have been condensed and the Senior cup for steps 1 to 6 is a designated midweek played tournament. The Oxfordshire senior cup for instance is played on Saturday’s and midweek.

They seemed to have managed to make it a weekend game for virtually (if not every) final for the past near 150 years or so though, so why is this year different?

No idea. But playing it on a Monday would make no sense.
Has the World Cup messed up the calendar ?

Last years final was on May day Monday bank Holiday- 1st team were at Luton in the final match of the season. Also several non- league teams play their mid-week matches on a Monday including Beaconsfield and Hitchin.

My point was more it’s not very fair to expect the non league teams to play a final 48 hours after a league game when the league sides woukdn’t have to (ok, I know we had some players named in a league squad and the B&B final squad on the same day last year…)

Tuesday night wasn’t it? Sure it was the same evening that Barnsley got a draw to guarantee Reading at least a play off place. So there was quite a celebration after winning.

Very surprised at this, seems an utterly stupid date to pick as Bracknell are scheduled to be away at Yate on the Saturday before and have a trip to Truro (a game already postponed twice) on the following Wednesday.

That`s the nub of the problem - Bracknell are having to play midweek league fixtures until the end of the season(15 to play) hence this Monday/Wednesday week. I`m pretty sure they have only been playing squad members in the B & B cup and this will continue in this semi.
Season ends 22nd April and then play-offs start.
Edit 2 only started on Tuesday who played last Saturday.

Season ends 22nd April and then play-offs start.

I suspect (and rather hope) that somebody is actually considering 'co-hosts' Sandhurst's, gathering fixture backlog too, when scheduling home games for Bracknell.
It will no doubt entail both clubs playing multiple midweek games on 'odd' nights [incl. Mon or even Thu]
The 'Fizzers' still have 19 games to fit in by season's end - admittedly not all at home.
(haven't checked .... yet )

Edit: It's 10 home games after today.... and maybe not too daunting after all since, if my sums are right, Bracknell only have 6 @ the SB. excl POs.

The thing that annoyed me the most about Maidenhead pulling out- apart from they did it last season as well is that they were happy to play Slough at York Rd before a big derby crowd in the previous round !!!
