Lita in trouble in Brizzle?

Lita is paid big money and enjoys all the perks of being a professional footballer. Last time he was warned by SC and NH not to put himself into situations where he could get drawn into trouble. He has clearly ignored that warning.

We can't afford to get shot of him - we've got bugger all cover left in the strikers department as it is - but I do hope the the club throw the book at him (regardless of whether he is guilty of the police charges he is guilty of ignoring his employer's instructions) and fine him as much as they are able.

Then maybe they should get Kitson to look after him/mentor him in the hope that he can learn what being a professional is all about and appreciate how lucky he is to be a Premiership footballer.

The only crime he is guilty of so far are:

1. Failing to hold up the ball when we're under the cosh away from home (or even not under the cosh).

2. Failing to rescue a point at Wigan when one-on-one with the keeper (presumably he's deadlier when one-on-one in a night club).

It was a drunken handbags incident with his mate who was left with a "black eye". It is being hyped up down here as it takes the attention away from another "headbutt" that half of Bristol would rather forget about.

A mate who was willing to make a formal alllegation to police? Sounds a bit unlikely to me.

Also to be arrested for assault occasioning GBH it would usually need more than a slightly bruised eye. I would expect there to be some socket/bone damage. Though, having said that, what you get arrested for and what you end up being charged with (if anything) often differ enormously.

Football has changed considerably since then. Lita is paid to play at a far higher level than Friday and probably earns in a year what Robin Friday earned in his lifetime.

I've always been appalled by Reading's reluctance to buy African players. However after Bikey and Lita's headbutts, and Sonko's red card, I'm starting to come around to the point of view that perhaps these people have something intrinsicly wrong with them.

What knee-jerk reaction? Lita has been arrested, he's been bailed. Those are facts and it's not your everyday occurence for a Premiership footballer.

This is big enough news that we even got an inch of press in the London Evening Standard. Surely the club HAS to comment on this, even if it's to say "Unfortunately as this is an active police investigation we are unable to comment, blah blah blah"
