We've been mentioned in many reports over the last month or so.

Nailed on now, Shorey is going (don't know where) so the deal is back on.

Would certainly cushion the blow.

Shorey's heart isn't in it so better out than in.

Spoke to Matt at the weekend, he did not travel to Ipswich for the f.a cup game.

3 teams have put a bid in for him 1 Bolton 1 Sunderland and the other one is undisclosed but we all know who that is!!!!!!

Are we sure he'll choose us over them?

i would rather go to bolton or sunderland if i were him, purely in financial terms, and as the bigger team
though the threat of relegation may just limit their wage offers, and also put him off slightly
would a move up north put him off-wheres he live again?

But I can assure you all one thing, the only Southern team interested in Matt is Reading, he will not move to the North because he nor his girlfriend want to live up there, so relating back to the top page the Bolton gossip has come from Matt's agent.

EP today says we've denied interest, so looking unlikely IMO.

We don't tend to do that if we are interested in a player, though I seem to recall us doing it about Lita a few of months before we got him...

thats correct. 'we've had no contact with Bristol City'

'we've been talking to Bristol City for a few months and have just had to agree on a fee'

Sound more like the club managing the expectations of the supporters. With 2 other bigger clubs interested, for a lot of players we would be the least desirable destination.

Coppell is hardly going to tell the world what people he's trying to buy - it's Readings way to deny stuff and then announce it out of the blue!

Theres a difference between not announcing and actually denying though. Lita aside, who I get the feeling wasn't our primary target which would explain the denial, I don't recall us ever denying being interested in someone we're rumoured to be after if we do actually sign them.

No seriously, what position is he expecting to fill?
left back will be free soon and that's his favoured position although i'd give him a try in the centre
Sounds more likely considering that Shorey didn't play today either.

James Milner was not in the Newcastle squad yesterday, supposedly ill.
We're looking for a right sided player.......................

I seem to remember we denied interest in Fae during the summer with something along the lines of
" he is a player we have been interested in the past but has been injured alot and we are not interested in signing him at this moment"
