Taking a year off, but I suppose signing up to a £10m a season/4 year deal & being sacked (all that compensation) after 6 months because the boys can't play the Barca way and JT can't get is way is not a bad shout eitherNo Fixed Abode wrote:Guardiola to step down as Barca boss at the end of the season......now I wonder what will happen should Di Matteo not win the FA Cup, CL or get 4th spot...
Of course it's a one-off game that he doesn't qualify for-this is broadly a cup competition and not a 38-game league when you could argue say if Kompany got sent off in the last league game he should still be able to lift the trophy as captain.TBM wrote:LOL here he ^^ goes again*
The winner of the competition done so by getting through the group stages as well as the knock out games - something Terry was captain for. Its not a "one off game"
*not you hoop
If Pep goes to Chelsea we will all be clear that it is ONLY about the money.daswonder wrote:Taking a year off, but I suppose signing up to a £10m a season/4 year deal & being sacked (all that compensation) after 6 months because the boys can't play the Barca way and JT can't get is way is not a bad shout eitherNo Fixed Abode wrote:Guardiola to step down as Barca boss at the end of the season......now I wonder what will happen should Di Matteo not win the FA Cup, CL or get 4th spot...

I'm surprised UEFA doen't sanction mutual cock sucking before each match between opponents.
To my mind that's exactly why he'd take the job.Franchise FC wrote:If Pep goes to Chelsea we will all be clear that it is ONLY about the money.daswonder wrote:Taking a year off, but I suppose signing up to a £10m a season/4 year deal & being sacked (all that compensation) after 6 months because the boys can't play the Barca way and JT can't get is way is not a bad shout eitherNo Fixed Abode wrote:Guardiola to step down as Barca boss at the end of the season......now I wonder what will happen should Di Matteo not win the FA Cup, CL or get 4th spot...

The current Chelsea squad are clearly good players (if ageing a bit) but they do not play anywhere near the style Pep is used to. He'd have to change at least half the squad.
