My understanding is their remaining parachute payments are distributed to the remaining clubs in the championship when promoted back to the premier league.
Will also make a more level playing field with less clubs with parachute payments next season.
If you Google for parachute payments then there appears to be a couple of different opinions (guesses). Some sites think the EFL should get the money freed up by Norwich and Watford being promoted - it sounds like the EFL need to go cap in hand to the PL to request this. Other sites say the money could go back into the PL kitty and be divvied up between the (existing) Premier League sides.Hound wrote:Interesting- never heard that before but makes senseMid Sussex Royal wrote:With Norwich and Watford (and maybe Bournemouth) going up could we be able to offer better contracts to Tmac etc?

what is the total disbursement to the Championship?

Paunovic did not know Tetek before he came to Reading. Tetek was 12 when Paunovic left Serbia and has only started representing Serbia due to Paunovic discovering him at Reading.Franconian Royal wrote:I've read what you have all said and this would be my way of doing it:
Sell Moore and Puscas. Something has happened to Moore. It's as if his agent is whispering sweet nothings into his head. He's not been the same for a while.
Puscas - 9m worth of striker on the bench as someone has already said, no need for him to warm the bench. He's done ok, but for 9m, it's not enough. Not entirely his fault, but it looks as if Bowen had and Porno has no idea how to play the guy. He's not a João.
Keep Morro on for another year. His experience his good. Offer him a coaching position at the end of his contract.
TMac, Holmes, Rhino, Laurent, Swift, Olise etc (we know which players I mean) should be signed up for a longer period (2-3 years).
Tetek etc with a lot of talent - keep!!! This kid could become real quality. He looks confident. Porno knows him (from the U19 WC, I think). Develop the youngsters and really give them belief they can break through.
Aluko, Baldock etc - get rid.

As for Puscas - I’m not sure why we paid the fee we did, but why would his transfer fee have any impact upon whether we sold him? He’s a 1-in-3 striker at this level, exactly what you want on your bench. We’re probably going to lose Joao this summer and we’re definitely seeing the last of Baldock, do we really want to try to build a whole new strike force?

Yes, but with Reading or another club?
Think Tetek is still eligible for call up by England as well.SCIAG wrote:Paunovic did not know Tetek before he came to Reading. 28 Apr 2021 13:53Well when I saw him v Cardiff for the first time proper, bombing in from the right and scoring from a very tight angle and leaving Cardiff players for dust, I could see why, but since then, seen nothing like that from him. Maybe QPR away and the Wigan hatrck.SCIAG wrote: As for Puscas - I’m not sure why we paid the fee we did, but why would his transfer fee have any impact upon whether we sold him? I’m sick of Brentford tbh. If they stay down they’ll just be good againSutekh wrote:Indeed.Ascotexgunner wrote:I'm torn now.....So want them to screw up the playoffs and get Barnsley or Swansea up.Snowflake Royal wrote:Suddenly a Bournemouth fan
Brentford for me, then Barnsley, then Swansea then that south cost lot.
Gotta agree, get rid of a team most likely to be challenging up the top end again next season, by that logic then, either Brentford or Swansea. If Bournemouth don't go up they'll probably start sweating FFP a bit as parachute payments only last 2 seasons these days.Hound wrote:I’m sick of Brentford tbh. Bournemouth could definitely start crumbling if they don’t go up as they are paying prem wages etc

Brentford will get something wrong eventually and drop down the table - things go in cycles. The longer they fail to make the jump the more likely it is that they will make some errors with their recruitment.Hound wrote:I’m sick of Brentford tbh. 29 Apr 2021 08:20I think, personally, no one has played Puscas properly and he's got the strain of a big transfer fee for an unproven striker on his back. Granted he has improved his hold up play, but I don't think Porno etc., know exactly what to do with him. He's not a João, but they keep on playing him up front on his own.SCIAG wrote:Paunovic did not know Tetek before he came to Reading.
