We can only assume they are saying that forecasting this seasons accounts means we would still fail the 3 year cycle of FFP.

But again, I don't know what they are practically trying to base this off because we've agreed a business plan with the EFL and I'm sure most, if not all, clubs who failed FFP regulations in recent years, would also fail the year after as well because I can't imagine it's that easy to simply cut your costs within a season without selling the vast majority of your squad.

RFC did appear to stall the imposition of the penalty as far as they could into the current season.

It depends on what they know, or what they believe they know. I don't know how they would know it, but there may be some information that they can gather, or predict. They'll have looked at our sales, incomings, outgoings etc and probably predicted that we will still be over. Again, to whatever level of accuracy would be scrutinised of course, but from their perspective, it could be worth a claim.

Could be but I'm pretty sure that the terms of the penalty mean that we can't lose any more points this season, so at this point worst case is relegation and - 6 next year. I would hope we haven't been stupid enough to knowingly break the agreement or even how we could do that given EFL oversight.

I think we’ll go down with Derby and Posh but I obviously hope I am wrong. I can see Barnsley battling for more points than us and having a lot more grit and determination.

Apart from 1 or 2 games we always fall apart when the going gets tough and I haven’t seen anything yet to suggest that’s going to change anytime soon. Maybe the management team can instil some nastiness into the team to make us less easy to play against.
