I haven't tried it myself, but I appreciate your question, as I have heard from several reliable sources that the actual taste of said water is somewhat different to what one might expect, taking into account local minerals, hardness, acidity and other factors.

A lovely country, bit hot this time of year but glorious September and into October

Been watching the Tour de France up in the Basque region and that looks lovely, surprisingly green they get a fair bit of rain. And not too hot.

Direct ferries from the UK. maybe one for the campervan one day.

You will definitely be one of the few Brits at St Jean de Luz if 20 years ago is anything to go by (which is obviously a bonus).

Sorry, meant I've been on holiday to Tossa de Mar which is just along the coast from Lloret. We actually slept overnight on the beach in Lloret as we missed the last bus back to Tossa.
