4 points from the opening 2 is a very good haul. Takeover announced next week, a few signings for depth and a win at Wrexham and we'll all start getting ahead of ourselves.

This has been a very good start to the season. Ease off a bit second half, but we could have scored a bucket load already.

Think Selles is being canny using his subs here. The more time we can give to players like Garcia, Camara, Wareham, Abrefa, Kanu, Osho etc whilst we have a pretty fully fit squad, the more ready they'll be if they need to be called upon later in the season. Plus the fresher the first XI stays.

I was thinking that. One of the most improved facets of Selles' success has been with subs. He's not made many bad ones for a while.

We definitely eased right off at 2-0 but never really looked liked conceding. Then last ten we decided to put some energy again and could and should have scored a couple more

We took decent. Kelv E superb as was the back 4. Elliot starting to look the player we know he can be. A couple more to boost up the squad and if Wigan are an average side we can def look to top ten minimum

Wing dropping deep playing almost as a extra centre back in a back 5 when we haven’t got the ball really helps.

Smith needs to learn how to score
There was a 20 minute period after we scored were we faffed around with it too much at the back.

We need to be more clinical and take advantage In our dominant periods of the game. It should have 72-0 at half time.

Wigan were awful
Pereira didn’t have to make a save did he?

Fans were loud and sang all game

Brum and Wigan have both tried to play (not very successfully) and been fairly open.

Some of the more agricultural sides will play in a completely different way. Bypassing midfield, very physical etc.

Azeez and Ehibhatiomhan on the flanks must be one of the best pairs of wingers in this division though.

Camara played very well imo. The crucial goal making bits didn't come off, but he works his arse off, plays tidy football. Just needs to get those first couple of assists/goals and chill out a bit.

Camara is a terrific player but doesn't seem to get noticed quite so much. Really could do with another Sam Smith though, someone to compete and give him a good run for his money.

Also need to get some depth as playing this pressing stuff is going to be nigh on possible to maintain for 46 games without a few more bodies about in the squad. Hope there is some wriggle room under the new regime to find some extra help!

Very happy with that. If we'd been a little better with our finishing and our decision making (at times), it could have been four or five.

Elliott was impressive, whilst Dorsett continues to show his defensive prowess. Wigan didn't really threaten.

Only real negative was Knibbs being out of the squad. Apparently a groin injury, which will take three or four weeks to cover from; likely he'll be back after the September internationals.

Dim got it right today (unusually) that we look fitter and stronger across the board this season.

Surprised Camara is getting praised, as I thought he was the weak link. Lost the ball easily several times, poor first touch on a number of occasions, and some poor decision making. Should have at least got his first half chance on target and tried a through ball when he should've had a shot in the second half.

I'm hoping for big things from him this season, so hoping he will improve.

Fantastic performance. First half we should have gone in 3-0 up. Not so effective second half but we defended well and the clean sheet a real bonus when we want the SCL to feel like a fortress again. Ehib is turning into some player as well; really like the look of him. Smith should have buried at least one of his chances. Little concerning watching him hobble off at the end. Felt we lacked width on too many occasions, especially on the right in the second half. But we won and that's all that matters. This team will grow and get better as the season progresses. Add some quality loans and we can break into the top six this season and then lose at Wembley

4 points from 6 is a great start; even more so when we looked at the fixture list a month ago and took a gulp. Wrexham away will be interesting!

Agree - the first agricultural side we play is next week.

I saw 20 mins of Wrexham in the week when it was half time in our game - they played pretty much like Parky's Bradford and Bolton sides, very physical and the ball constantly lumped forward.
