I think he fits in the Danny Loader category, great athlete etc but not really sure what his position is. Wish him well but I think this will be the downfall.
To be scrupulously fair, I think we did know exactly what his position is, he was just never played in it. Instead he was forced to play in a role that didn't suit him to cover up for our failure to recruit enough proper strikers.
Agreed, he's absolutely an inside forward who was asked to play as a centre forward to cover for Marriott's injury due to our non-existent depth in that area due to MoM and Keane both being shit and getting injured.
Not just last season - which in terms of output was his best for games played, league goals scored - but throughout his time here.

E.g. The run-in under Hunt when we’d start him to little effect and then bring on Wareham with no time to do owt. Ugh. Try both? Please?

Selling players with a year left on their contract is the way to operate.
Sorry to see him go, I would have liked to have seen him grow with the team.

I guess the wifi password was due a change, people were starting to memorise the spelling (not be, I still got it wrong!)

I wonder if we considered or indeed did offer him an extension?

But yes sad as it is to see him go I’d accept if he wasn’t going to extend then we had to sell at 500k+

How good a piece of business this is will depend on who comes in to bolster our attacking options.
