We need to boost these areas not leave ourselves open to being even thinner in these areas.

Totally agree with this. We need all the players we have got at the moment and with a number already struggling with knocks and another tough friendly this saturday, we could be starting the Middlesborough game with the bare bones.

Sidwell is replaceable, of course he is and if he goes he goes. Just that you don't get rid of any first team player without adequate replacement coming in (unless you have no choice), with our squad size we don't have that at this moment.

Sidwell is staying for the forseeable future and has done nothing wrong in the whole scheme of things. He will be pulling on our shirt in 10 days time and playing for our club. Nothing else is important.

It's not our fault that you appear so fixated with the man himself that in your eyes he can do no wrong. Why not start a Sidwell fan club and support whichever club he goes to because he won't be here much longer.

Get over yourself WR, he's a professional who like all professionals is looking out for his career. At the moment, that career sees him play in a Reading shirt and whilst he does I will support him as equally as all other players. When he leaves, then that's that.

This saga doesn't seem to have effected the rest of the squad and according to the post today he is happy to play for us and will continue to work as he has. Yes his form may not have been great last year but he scored 10 and if he manages half that his year we'll all be happy.

This whole thing is over for the time being so FFS support the team (of which he is a part) and enjoy the season.

Sidwell told the Evening Post: “I’m glad all the talk has stopped now.

I agree with what you have wrote there.

I was initially unhappy about his comment about his wife and kids to think about, but I got over it and will be backing Sidwell as I know we're not letting him go.

Do you really, really think that a professional footballer would purposely play badly in a first team game? Especially when he is trying to prove himself in the top flight?

Well then we'll really be scraping the barrel.

Sidwell is well within his rights to try and get the best deal he can BUT he should go about it in a more dignified way and not try to hold the club that's launched his career to ransom by using the press and other clubs offers so publicly.

Unfortunately we can't do without him yet as we're short on quality and quantity in the middle of the park

the thing that annoys me the most about the sidwell saga is he said in previous years he'll give it another year to push in the prem, if we can't make it he'd want to move on fair enough.

But then to make it, and see that he wants to move is a bit of a slap in the face. i will support sidwell this year, i think he's a decent player and deserves respect for what he's achieved here. Im just somewhat annoyed by the way he conducts himself "we don't want to go down the route of requesting transfers" well, you've figured out you dont need to go down the route of transfers if you run to the press once a week.

I'm glad Sidwell has attempted some form of damage limitation but that doesn't excuse the pathetic brown nosing from yourself and a few others.

Believe it or not, you are not alone in realising that football is a career for players and that they will try to get the best deal that they can.

However, just like the business world, there are ways and means of conducting yourself, things that can and can't be said.

Sidwell and his agent have behaved like kids in a candy store and this Evening Post article is proof that they have gone too far.

If Sidwell wants our respect he should shut the f*ck up, continue his business dealings in private and make sure his agent does the same.
