BLOLades.

They were so completely devoid of a constructive approach today I really think they're going to be in deep toruble if they keep playing like that.

Not much else to say apart from that the first half was excellent, Seol's goal was splendid, and that although we were on the back foot for much of the second half, we still had better chances than they did (goal aside) and I never really felt like we'd walk away with anything less than 3 points.

I'm suprised by the criticism of Lita, I thought he did well today in terms of team play. I thought there were many occasions where he wasn't out muscled, the second goal being a good example.

If anything his finishing would give me the biggest cause for concern, missed two very good chances today and with the Wigan miss, it's becoming a bit of a bad habit.

Excellent game, which I have to say, I didn't think we'd stand a chance against a strong (in the sense of their build) SheffieLOLd United team - but we took our advantage from the off and capitalised with Seol's goal - I thought it ranked amongst one of the best away games I'd seen in recent years.

I hope the FA people who were there noted the throwing out of a bloke, who I can only assume made a few hand gestures or something ( I don't know if the kid taken out after him who was crying was his son or his brother - but personally I thought dragging him out like he was some mass murderer surrounded by about 8 old bill and a few jobsworth stewards was a disgrace, as was the frankly pathetic stewards who tried and failed abysmally to stop Marcus throwing his shirt)

Journey back marred for me by a load of so-called RFC supporters who thought it was funny to make racist, sexist comments all the way back. And shame on SROT who appeared to join in.

Us so called reading fans have spent more time and money watching Reading than you ever will.If you didnt like the comments made on the way home you should have left the carriage.It is a free country and we can express whatever comments we like! You joined in with the banter when it suited you,so dont come on here slagging off REAL Reading fans.

I did leave the carriage in the end. I left after one of your hilarious group decided to try and have a fight with a black guy who was already stood on the platform. As for you having spent more time and money on following Reading, whilst I don't normally agree with those who think that because they've been to more games they're a better fan, on this occasion, I would just state that I have followed RFC home and away for 25 years and in our family alone we have 10 season tickets.

I thought Lita could have had a couple of goals yesterday. Could have just shot with his back to goal as he was only 7 yds out at our end then in the 2nd half could have just poked it in but goalie did well on that one.
Blades were awful, blades fans were awful. Our support was terrific yesterday. Hope we can keep it up for these next couple of games. Come on URZ. Thanks to PieEater and his son for a fantastic day out.

The main protagonists were not youth, they were in their mid 30's if not older.

And why were the jobsworth stewards so f**king annoying, not letting marcus throw his shirt into the crowd? What a bunch of w**kers.

Did anyone actually get arrested for shouting "W**kers, W**kers" to the stewards?

The steward who was stood by me told me to stop doing masturbating signs to the home fans, so I told him "all northerners do it mate, they know what I mean!"

That Korean fan in the crowd was amazing. LOL @ Jackie Chan though....

Did you see him when Seol scored....

Hell of a game, watched it on Football First this morning, and if Lita pulled his socks up a bit, we could have scored 4 before a reply.

Lita, created the second goal, caused havoc with the united defence, chassed back more thn I can remember, ran half the length of the pitch one move to get the ball back.

IMO, United got back into the game, due to the defence having a few comedy moments, and that in turn made them nervous and sat back deeper

watched a live stream on teh net, and then caught MOTD. Was a top game. Looked to me like 10 -15 mins into the second half we made the concsoius decision that for some reason we just weren't going to score anymore goals and to stop pushing for it (though I think we'd relaxed a touch after the 2nd anyway), we decided that with the blunts looking totally impotant in attack and Sonko and Ivar eating their attacks for breakfast that we could defend.

We couldn't do this against a team who knows how to score, but it worked against Man City and it worked against Sheff U. We had a few comedy moments in defence and Ivar probably should have one better to stop the header for their goal, but having watched it several times from different angles there was nothing Sonko could do and Hahnemann can only have minimal blame as he left only a small gap at his near post. Hulse just scored a great goal.

Convey and Lita looked much improved, and Seol looked back to his old self. We know we'll lose games and conceed goals this season, but the best thing is we're full of goals ourselves which is usually enough to pick up the ponts to keep you safe. Sheff Utd and I'm sorry to say Watford look oxf*rd right now. Man City, Charlton and Fulham look to me like they'll struggle as well.

I think we can pick up the odd point in the next few games. Arsenal are beatable and I wouldn't be surprised by a draw with one of Chelsea or Man Utd, Don't fancy our chances at Upton Park though, not exactly a happy hunting ground as it is. Especially with Kitson maybe still out.

Having had the long journey home and this morning to think back on events and with the euphoria dying down I still thought we were brilliant in the first-half yesterday and it was so good to see the same kind of "power-play" in the first 20 minutes as we so often produced last season.
Radibee's ratings are about the same as mine and it was good to see Lita doing so much better and carrying on the improvement against City.

I think most of us would have hoped for 8 or 9 points from these opening games and now the season really starts in earnest.
The defence has done really well so far but have yet to come across top-grade strikers or attacking midfielders so I think our renowned team spirit and commitment is going to be severely tested and we are going to need a bit of luck as well.
As for Sheff Utd they still look like a Championship side with not enough pace about the team and unless Kenny,Tonge,Montgomery,Davis and Webber are back soon they look doomed.

As for Warnock he was quite gracious in defeat and we didn't need the obnoxious Reading fan kicking off 606 with a tirade of abuse at Warnock on a day when we should have been glorying in a performance where if we had scored 6 might have better reflected our superiority for most of the game.

Finally regarding the stewards I joined in with everyone else over the Marcus shirt incident but on reflection they wouldn't have known about Marcus' ritual and probably thought that he was about to jump into the crowd which is not permitted these days-it was funny though to see Marcus assert himself and the stewards soon backed down.

If you were expressing racist comments, then it's not a 'free country' to do that - there are race relations laws, and if RL was crazy enough to report you, you could have been arrested, charged, and convicted. People don't mind small minded oxf*rd taking the piss, but maybe, just maybe, people to have a problem with racist bigotts. Being big and hard and making racist comments does not make you a 'REAL' Reading fan. Arsehole.
