What was the last player that you were gutted that left/sold

11 years is a very long time not to be angry at players leaving.

Could be down to you either not bothered about the players we have sold.
Or happy that we have kept all your favourite players.

The summer after we lost in the 1995 play-off final was the worst. Having to watch Shaka, Osborn and Taylor leave was heartbreaking!

Thinking that Kevin Doyle, or Sonko etc might leave next Summer really depresses me and then I don't like to think about it.

It got me thinking about the last person that I was unhappy about leaving Reading FC and I can't really think of one recently.

Caskey, I think.
But then probably peed off at him going to Notts County than Millwall, even though Millwall was a far better side back then.

why would they leave next summer?

If the right bid came in, with the right terms for the player...
It happens.

if we were doing well enough for the right bid to come in ,then we would be offering them the right terms ourselves, trust me.

ivar and bryn have signed extensions, we are a club moving in the right direction. we dont need to sell anyone now and if (more likely when) we stay up our position will be stronger and key players like doyle and sonko will be queing upto sign extensions.

be positive my friend, you will find life is a whole lot more enjoyable.

oh and the answer to the player i was gutted about can be the one and only neil hislop.

TBF, I think the reason that '95 sticks in my mind was that the creative spine team got stripped. Combine that with the realisation of how close we were to "The Promised Land" and it stands out more vividly (possibly due to the fact I was 16 at the time whereas now I have other things to "worry" about).

Whenever I think of any other player leaving since then, it was always a case of "I'm sure we'll find someone to replace them".

And in some cases it was "Thank fcuk for that"

I was gutted when Steve Brown injured himself and had to retire, Same goes for Chris Casper. They both did honourable jobs for us.

I agree about 1995, when we lost that match, we all knew that Osborn, Shaka, Taylor would leave and we wouldn't get another chance to go up for ages.

Since I've had a proper life I don't think people leaving has left me gutted, but when Trevor Senior and Keith Curle left I do recall being particularly disappointed.

And to think, Osborn moved to QPR, who were a "bigger" club at the time...!

Since those left, I would say I've been most disappointed to lose Linvoy Primus, Nicky Forster, Ady Williams, and Jamie Ashdown.

I'd like to add Matthew Upson to that too, but he was never really "ours" in the first place. However, with Birmingham City looking to sell him in January (http://www.football365.com/story/0,1703 ... 03,00.html), that may change...

already mentioned...Senior, Curle, Williams, Shaka...but above those would be Terry Hurlock, shame he was only with us for a year....always gave 100%, hard as nails and actually had guile & skill which was never really appreciated....well, Millwall who he helped achieve top flight status with and Rangers...

In recent times I was disapointed when Kevin Watson left, I felt he deserved a place in the midfield instead of Harper the season he left at the end of. And Martin Butler shouldn't have been sold when he was but I wouldn't say I was gutted when these 2 left.

Probably when Scott Taylor joined Leicester as he was, and still is, my favourite ever Reading player.
