I'm surprised most of you think he had a fair game but there you go.

Strange that some people seemed to think I was looking for an excuse for the loss

I suggest you re-read the first post. We lost because of our second half performance (or lack of) but thats a-whole-nother thread.

Guarantee after match of the day tonight everyone will be on here, giving it " it was definately a dive, should've been booked blah blah blah.
But...We lost because we didn't play as well as we can and Blackburn scored more goals than us.
Poll missed a few things, but he also disallowed 3 goals for offside (and yes, I know that was the linesmans call, but we have had ref's overuling linesmen before now). 1-5 and we would really have something to moan about.

Next game please.

Poll was light on the whistle and allowed the game to flow. He missed a few things for us but had a fairly decent game. We had a bad second half and only have ourselves to blame I'm afraid

No, Poll had a shocker today. He thinks he is the star and not the players and deliberatley courts controversy with some his decisions, which are purely attention seeking vehicles.

We lost to a better team on the day, but Mr Poll was hopeless. Some of his decisions were simply baffling, not to mention just plain wrong.

Poll was no problem, our shambolic second half was! Where was the passion we've been used to? Sidwell looked weak, only Ivar stood out.

Yes he was bad and I frequently went ballistic at him. However, he was amazing in comparison to Hahnemann Sidwell, Harper, Little, Hunt, Seol and Lita when he came on.

Seriously tho, it was a clear dive and the only way that diving will be reduced in the game is if the referees start to have the balls to give bookings out. He had a great view of it and he didn't give a penalty, therefore it must be a dive and he has to bbok him.

BTW this is not a reason for why we lost because I completely agree with your comments below.

Poll had a decent game. He didn't give decisions in our favour for Hunt's run and Sidwell's run into the box because on both occasions it looked like Hunt/Sidwell were already losing control of the ball by the time there was any contact.

However, I thought that Morten Gamst Pederast was lucky to get away without a booking when he went in with a high boot.

Probably a good idea not to complain about the officials when three goals against us are disallowed.

This seems to happen quite often and my theory is that a referee decides that 50:50 decisions will all go in one direction - so one team gets the benefit first half and the other team second half.

It's rather more likely that because we played better in the first half Blackburn gave away more fouls trying to stop us. In the second half that was reversed.

because he didn't dive - he was brought down, but only 'cos Sonks fell and clipped him - no intent, no penalty, no dive.

Now I've seen it in slow motion I'll take that back - it was a clear dive, but it didn't look like it yesterday in real time and from the angle I swa it at - which was more or less the same anagle the GP had.

Interestingly, if he had been booked for that, and then he'd still thrown the ball to the lino after scoring, then he'd have been off and the end result could have been very different!

Poll was pretty good, Coppell had an off day
It was clear within five minutes of the second half that Blackburn were over running our midfield. The substitution by Hughes had an immediate effect and Nonda gave Ivan a lot of problems. Perhaps we should have brought Seoul back to midfield or pulled Seoul off and brought on an extra midfielder. And/or bring off Little earlier, who looked tired. Something was needed to counter Blackburn's switch and the change in their level of commitment and desire, but nothing was forthcoming.

Read 2 pages and seen little mention of Sonko's challenge. The most blatent penalty you will see all season not given in Blackburn's favour, or is it not allowed to see it slightly unbiased?

Poll got 2 things wrong for me, other than that was OK.

Blackburn had a sotnewall penalty when Sonko got rinsed and then dragged the guy down

And when Hunt I think was going through, there was a foul and should have been a free kick but was given their way!
