I agree, Oster was not good enough and a decent replacement should have been brought in. But the main reason teams lose games is because they concede goals, not because they dont score. Therefore IMO, wingers are fairly low down the list of players whose fault it is
Depends - I'd say Pompey's defence was quite strong - James, Johnson, Campbell, Distin, Hreidersson.
I see your point - all are great players individually, and on paper they look good. However on last season's performance I would tend to disagree. All (except Johnson) are the wrong side of 30, and with the uncertainty surrounding the club last season, is it any suprise they underperformed.
I still maintain that Thomas was released without having a proper chance and I think he could carve defences up like a Christmas Turkey at this level
