Forest Gump I think this is a missed opportunity for Reading. Can't see what he adds to it at the moment and if they actually need a DoF I think they should have found a well respected and better connected one.

Those without very short memories will remember how we were left to look like a bunch of amatuers in the Tommy Smith saga.

which was only turned into a farce by rodgers going on about it in the press all the time

And does anyone want to name a better and more respected DOF?

Dennis Wise maybe?!

0-7 Nick Hammond was a lousy goalkeeper and is only staying as JM can't cope with a strong dynamic Director of Football. Equally he fits the job desciption of 'cheap yes man'.

Also confirms that JM has no desire to sell in spite of what he says to the contrary.

There is no compulsion about having a DofF, it would be daft of JM to spend money on a 'yes' man when he could just employ no one in the role.

Hammond does his job pretty well and without too much fuss. Some people seem to not actually know what that jb is, and there is no need for our DofF to be a 'yes' man or especially outspoken or opinionated in public.

And what renewing a contract has to do with selling I have no idea. If you have your house on the market I assume you carry on paying the running costs ?
