+1 to this dose of common sense.....FridaysGhost wrote:This was always a dodgy conviction and, historically, came after a complete swathe of similar prosecutions (or potential prosecutions) caused by TOWIE girls thinking that a night with a footballer would give them fame, money and a career - all of the footballers in these cases were found to be innocent! Indeed, in some cases, the girls had admitted their lies before the case came to Court.
A girl who attaches herself to a group of footballers, gets rat-arsed with them and then retires to a hotel room with them cannot, under any circumstances, expect anything other than sex. Moreover, having convinced the Court that she was too comatose to agree with anything, it seems strange that her memory of some of the proceedings appears to be intact!
Many University students, after a serious party, may wake up to the realisation that they have made a serious mistake the night before. Do rape proceedings follow? NO! They take responsibility for their own actions AND the guy they woke up with was not a footballer.
The Politically-correct rubbish against this guy is just bizarre. He has done time for something that most of us would consider to be a norm of growing up in a permissive society AND, unlike a murderer, he is a footballer so he MUST be stopped from earning a living.
Every person who, without knowing whether this conviction was sound (which it is'nt) , chose to crucify this guy - should be showered with the sane abuse that Chad Evans has had to put up with!
There's so much factually wrong or misconceived in that post I barely know where to start. In fact I can't be bothered.FridaysGhost wrote:This was always a dodgy conviction and, historically, came after a complete swathe of similar prosecutions (or potential prosecutions) caused by TOWIE girls thinking that a night with a footballer would give them fame, money and a career - all of the footballers in these cases were found to be innocent! The one that got me was the girl who attached herself to a group of footballers and got rat-arsed with them when, in fact, the exact opposite happened in the Ched Evans case.Martin41 wrote:Norfolk Royal wrote:There's so much factually wrong or misconceived in that post I barely know where to start. +1 , the thing that stood out for me was the comment about that if you go back to a hotel room then under any circumstances they cannot expect anything other than sex!!!!!! Christ alive.......
