I did wonder what sort of team they would put out, considering they have three games in five days, and Wednesday v Truro is a very big one. Win that (a big ask, as they lost 0-3 at home to Truro recently) and they would have a real shot at a surprise title challenge.Royals and Racers wrote:F-T Bracknell 2 MK Dons 1
Poor from MK Dons as Bracknell didn’t have a keeper on the bench and had to bring on striker Ben Harris to wear the gloves and the only player who was playing who started on Saturday at Yate Joe Grant was sacrificed to bring Harris on. Harris made a couple of saves in the 2nd half but the 10 men coped pretty well to reach the final where they will play Marlow.
Might not be a surprise if the visit to “Truro” is postponed for the 3rd time (or abandoned ) as the weather forecast for Plymouth tomorrow is pretty awful with what looks to be torrential downpours currently expected in late afternoon/early evening.tmesis wrote:I did wonder what sort of team they would put out, considering they have three games in five days, and Wednesday v Truro is a very big one. Difference is that at your level everyone plays on shit pitches all the time, whereas the side we put out against Marlow were visibly affected by the unfamiliar quality of the surface. After a few unfortunate bobbles early on, they started to overhit their passes to compensate, which didn’t work.YorkshireRoyal99 wrote:
I play on terrible pitches at amateur level, yet usually the better teams tend to come through on the day and win the game because they have more quality.

It's utterly ludicrous to have this showpiece held on a weekday evening, especially will so many back holidays around this month!Royals and Racers wrote:Off to Ascot tonight- it`s still all ticket but tickets can be purchased up to 7pm tonight https://www.berks-bucksfa.com/news/2023 ... final-2023Royals and Racers wrote:Final is ALL TICKET at Ascot on Tuesday May 9th KO 7.45pm Bracknell v Marlow

So it might be- but all the County senior cup finals i can find across the country are midweek( not on BH). I will mention your outrage to the Berks and Bucks FA president Bill McKnight when i see him this eveningSutekh wrote:It's utterly ludicrous to have this showpiece held on a weekday evening, especially will so many back holidays around this month!Royals and Racers wrote:Off to Ascot tonight- it`s still all ticket but tickets can be purchased up to 7pm tonight https://www.berks-bucksfa.com/news/2023 ... final-2023Royals and Racers wrote:Final is ALL TICKET at Ascot on Tuesday May 9th KO 7.45pm Bracknell v Marlow

"You have to be in it to win it" as a wise man once said to me.Royals and Racers wrote:F-T 1-0
Not a classic by any means but pleased Bracknell won it. They had more of a fixture crisis than Maidenhead but fulfilled their B & B commitments which i for one applaud.
Indeed ! Maidenhead Utd are a disgrace the way they have treated the competition over the last 2 seasons !! I’m sure many deride the competition but over a 1000 for the final bears testament to it’s place on the calander.Green wrote:"You have to be in it to win it" as a wise man once said to me.Royals and Racers wrote:F-T 1-0

Presumably would have been more too if the game had been at 3pm on the previous Monday or Saturday instead.Royals and Racers wrote:Indeed !
