as the laws of the game have changed to be way more strict over physical contact, handball etc, they also need to review the punishments to go alongside those.

absolute madness for the laws of the game to be written in a way that means a penalty (80% chance of being scored) is given for handball when that happens.

Penalty all day long. His arm is pretty much stretching out as far as it’ll go and with IFAB’s recent “clarifications” that was that.

One of the most pathetic VAR interventions ever. Nobody appealed, nobody was even aware it had brushed his hand. It made no difference to the trajectory of the ball.

Still, didn't matter in the end as it was missed and Arsenal were still whooped.

But my goodness, worth mentioning that save from Donnarumma....!

Surely won’t be long until this Dunarunner bloke is in the Premier League?

A couple of Sommer’s saves for Inter were even better

Arsenal are advertising their hospitality packages quite heavily on social media with amusing responses:

"Bring your own silverware"

"Bring your own bottle"

"Drink out of the bottle because there's no cups"

"Is it crumble for dessert?"

"Dinner is the nearest they'll get to winner this season"

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. What next for the best team in the country? Can they blame this one on PGMOL or injuries?

I hate to break into my self-imposed exile, but do the Fairs Cup and Cup Winners Cup not count.
In one case Arsenal even had to win something to qualify for the tournament

Still leaves them a trophy down

Of course they count, in which case it’s Arsenal 2-4 Spurs:

Arsenal

Cup Winners Cup - 1993/94
Fairs/UEFA Cup/Europa League - 1969/70

Spurs

Cup Winners Cup - 1962/63
Fairs/UEFA Cup/Europa League - 1972/73, 1983/84, 2024/25

Take a bow Arsenal Women - beating Barcelona in the Champions League Final is some achievement, even if there was a massive gulf in class for much of the game.

Leah Williamson is some player - Goddess!

oxf*rd hell this lot are going to be the dullest PL champions ever. 88th minute and it's 44+ minutes since they last had a shot.

Even their old "1-0 to the Arsenal" teams were more exciting than this.

Why wasn’t Martinelli sent off? Surely deliberately throwing a ball at an injured player should be seen as violent conduct? Let alone trying to drag an injured player off the field - if Bradley had had a neck injury he could have been paralysed for life.

So? They're still boring to watch set piece merchants.

58 goals in all comps, 41 from open play, if you say so.

My PL soft-spot club is Arsenal but I find them pretty tedious for large parts of almost every game they play. Capable of great stuff but so bloody cautious, picking the easy passes, constantly recycling until they are within 20 yards of goals grinds on me.

e.g. I just don't understand why Gabriel, who can see Trossard standing in space on the wing, so often chooses to stop and pass along the line back into a central position when they could have been 40 yards further up the pitch. I'm sure there's a reason that Ian could probably explain to me but, although it's clearly worked pretty well for them this season (so far), I find it frustrating.
