Hmm - that’s tonight’s line up?

Looking very much like that’s our current bench/second team then

Imagine Osho will play again tomorrow

Good to see Roberts back

Doesn`t look like Savage will be an automatic choice this season.

I’ve heard that not all is well at the club and I’d like to know if Brogue or EPK have heard anything similar.
(more lols) recently redundant ex-employee got called back into the club earlier this week to give out some of his expertise and advice, was also getting pestered by them phoning him all the time

he says the pitch is in a sh1t state and found out (what once was) his immediate line manager has involuntarily had his hours reduced effectively to a three day week

Yes, I hear it on the regs, but I decided I wouldn't bother sharing stuff like that anymore as I just get called negative and wanting the club to fail, and I have a vendetta against the owners and Leam. But yeah, Leam is really disappointed with the window so far. We've missed out on the top 3 CB targets we were after. We've been too slow, and as per last season fcuking around with wages and transfer fees, meaning we've missed out on players.

Redundancies have caused a lot of animosity internally; long-serving members of staff are not happy, Couhig has quite the temper i'm told, and the constant shouting at staff in front of others is 'unprofessional' and 'uncalled for'. It's a 'toxic' work enviroment.

But hey, I have a vendetta against the owners, so all of the above isn't true, and it's just me being negative as per the usual.
A typical American then. They love nothing more than throwing their weight around
To be fair, I've worked for some very good American bosses & senior execs. I've also encountered some loud-mouthed bullies - both British and American.

The member of staff that answered the phone to my wife yesterday sounded really unhappy and as though he really didn't want to be there. Actually hung up on her without answering her question 'If X isn't in until Monday is there someone else who could help me please?' .

I suspect the cost-cutting has gone far too deep amongst staff who really make a difference to the supporter experience, leaving those who are left struggling to cope and extremely frustrated. I've seen the same thing happen in businesses that I've worked for. When a business is already on the ropes it's extremely difficult to cut your way to success and improved performance.
I was told we'd made fifteen members of staff redundant (up until mid-June). We had 43 administration staff employed during the 2024-25 season according to the accounts (and that was already down on the 52 in the 2023-24 season).

Assuming all those redundancies were admin staff related (and none were from the non-playing footballing staff), we've made just over a third of all our day-to-day staff redundant.

As others have pointed out, a lot of this seems to have come from the staff who had responsibilities related to supporter experience. However, I'm fairly certain the club have made ground staff redundant too. A number of them had been at the club for decades too.

You can't keep cutting staff and expect there to be no impact on the retained staff members. The negative impact on morale; productivity; and trust coupled with increased anxiety about job security can't be helping anything.

Hopefully someone has got a video of it, if he really scored from inside his own half!

I`ve seen it, not exactly David Beckham material, the keeper took it to the edge of the box and played it out but Beacroft got there first and hit it, probably bounced twice before it went in with the keeper unable to get back.

Charlton friendly available free via Royals TV KO 2pm.

40 years ago Fred Neate ruined the pitch by putting weedkiller on it pre season. Pitch looked dire for the first game - brown and lumpy.

Not a bad crowd for a friendly, looks like it could have been 4-2 to us.
